I came to europe after watching this man's shows. I found my wife in europe after being inspired by these shows and now I live in Spain and am becoming a Spanish citizen. Rick and team you guys are building a bridge to europe for my generation. Thank you for all you've done.
People have absolutely no idea what it takes to produce even a 30 second TV spot. Every second must be accounted for and rethought endlessly before shooting. The most difficult of all is not so much the video and lighting but, the sound quality is vital to the shot as well. Real pros make it all look so simple when in-fact, it's grueling long-hours of exhausting work to produce high-quality TV and Film production work. But, those of us in the business love it! Keep up the wonderful work Rick and team. Thank you for your passion ! Your work is much loved !

Hi Rick, I'm a poor Indian and will never be able to visit so many places of Europe. But I follow your channel and enjoy very much. Nice to learn so many things from you... history of the place, culture, people, cuisines, etc. etc..Great job from your team. Thanks a lot.

Hi there, if travelling really is your dream, than save up some and make travelling your job. Perhaps save for some photo equipment and take landscape pictures as your job. Its really a longshot but if you work hard, you can do it - trust me i was in the same position before as well.

It's not demeaning when he himself said he was a poor Indian. It wasn't meant to be demeaning. I am in no way downplaying the position he's in -- money and happiness are two very serious topics, all the more why I should give my story, and my two cents on how to get both of those things at the same time.

I say sorry to both of you gentlemen. It’s my fault to mention in that way that ‘I am a poor Indian’.I shouldn’t have exposed my emotion publicly. Pl. leave the matter. Thanks.

I would say Rick's shows are the best in public television. So genuine. And so much to learn from them. It's amazing they are done with such a compact team.
What an absolute grind! Definitely not a vacation with a basic video camera. Ton of work and I have appreciated all of Rick & the gang's work for many years.
I think I've already watched every single episode (except for Travel Skills) over these months in quarantine. They've truly helped me "get out" and feel like I'm "traveling" too. My 11-year old has begun to take interest and I just might have to go back to places I've already visited. A writer myself, I love Rick Steves' writing style and am happy to see the collaboration of Simon, Carl and Rick. They're a lean mean creative team! Thank you for keeping me sane over these months. God bless you! You will travel again...God willing...and I'll be there right with you.Stay well!
One of my favorites tv program, very entertaining and informative.LIKE.
All thanks to your show, I feel like I had travelled to almost every country of Europe without having to actually go there physically.
Rick's passion and knowledge, more than anything else, accounts for most of the quality of these shows . But from the little I know about video, the cameraman and producer have every thing to be proud of. These shows help me to relax. Excellent work! Keep on travelling guys!

Yep, I noticed a tendency in some recent documentaries I've seen to over do the amount of music and images we get, but I'm glad he's more committed to getting in more content to make it more educational.
I appreciate the crew's work....hats off man❤❤👌 keep up the good work
My God, I can proudly say that I have travelled all of Europe and toured its environs breathtakingly during the whole time of this on-going pandemic! Thank you Rick Steves and company. I am truly grateful from where I am forced to stay home for good in these coronavirus times in my part of the world called The Philippines.
One of my most favourite shows, so soothing & real stress buster. Lots of love & blessings to Rick Steves' Europe team😘🙏👌
I actually got emotional watching this! Incredible! Be assured that all the hard work these amazing shows take is deeply appreciated. I tell my family that if we are ever so blessed as to meet Rick Steves, I will hug him. But now I feel I shoul hug Simon and Karel as well. :)
Rick, Simon, and Karel: the Three Musketeers of travel television! Bravo, gentlemen!
I have got to travel the world right from my screen with the help of Rick Steve. I love every production you put out.
As a photojournalist. It's fun and we make it look easy but it's hard work and your news story can change. We do the editing and do live remotes with tight deadlines. I'm watching this video.. I understand completely what Rick's himself and team go through.
AMAZING! Would love to see more of these videos.
This is I think my favourite show of all the Rick S. productions. Seeing the hard work put into producing one of these shows and getting to see the support crew on personal level. Great job, thank you for all your hard work!!!!
Youre all amazing ,wonderful ,brillant and humble ,I love you all ,more blessed travelling ,God bless you all
Hi! Rick Steves, as always I have enjoyed watching your travel videos. I must add that one of the best that I have enjoyed is the "The Making of Rick Steves' Europe.' It's wonderful to see the amazing chemistry and team spirit that you, Simon and Karel have and also all the hard work that goes into producing each episode.& you can be sure that I have watched all your videos on the places.I salute you guys! & your Hard Working... Many thanks and safe travels to you.Always be Happy.God bless you too...
I'm indebted to you Rick! Thank you very much for showing us Europe. You are a champ
“Hi, I’m Rick Steves, and I’m the Mr. Rodgers for a world of neighbors.” -love this guy!
Nice to see the people who produce such a great show.
These programs are an integral part of my worldview. Thanks to all the artists involved. :)
I studied Enlightenment to Romanticism with the Open University, fabulous fascinating period.... I learnt a great deal about history, science, religion, art, and myself.... Thank you Rick and team for opening our eyes to ourselves🐚
This was so very interesting! Fascinating actually. To see the amount of work that goes into the making of just one show is kind of mind blowing! So very impressive to see Rick learning his lines in the script that he has labored over and the work that the camera men and producer are doing to keep up with Rick....Just WOW!!! I'm so glad I caught this one! I really had no idea how labor intensive this actually was. I do now! Thanks so much for sharing this guys! It was a true joy to watch!
Thank you Steve and your wonderful team. Thanks a lot to your videos, I have great motivation, knowledge and aspiration to travel to Europe to enjoy amazing fine art and beautiful scenery. Appreciate your work so much
Rick you have a fantastic team too while you ,re very good at it too
I just have to say a big...Thank You Guys, you guys are great
I just love watching Rick Steves. Whenever my parents and I go on vacation, I always watch him on my iPad. He is such a wealth of information when it comes to traveling. Even if you’re not traveling to Europe, you can always learn something from him to make your trip better.
Adventure, education, culture, beauty... Thank you so much!
My favorite travel show on PBS! I watch two others, Rudy Max & Joseph Rosendo, both are very in depth and keep my attention throughout, but there's something endlessly fascinating about Rick Steve's Europe that puts it at the top of my list of escapism programming. He vicariously brings the Old World straight to my living room. I'm sure I could watch every episode in a row and still be wanting more. This show is endlessly entertaining. 💪🏼😆✌🏼🌈🧠✨✨✨
Beautiful countries like I am traveling....dreaming!
Beautiful photographic views throughout the channel. Love them. I went some places, some places I didn't. Enjoying them very much.
!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes. As Rick said. If you can't travel this is for you. Thanks Rick and Cast.
Best camera work and Rick
Awesome show, learning a ton. Looking forward to using your travel tips. Cheers.
Good teamwork keep on doing it. Thanks for your wonderful education on the real campuses.
All of You deserve a big applaud from all of us viewers! Thanks for making our days worthy & beautiful...💕💕💕 Lots of love to "Rick Steve's Europe" team❣️ Inspiring!
So interesting---the 'behind the scenes''--- Thanks so much for such great shows that you all turn out!
Very interesting to see all of the hard work that takes place behind the scenes. All three guys are very hard working and talented in their own right. I look forward to the next batch of episodes.
So amazing to see all the hard work that goes into producing this wonderful show! Loved it and love the show!
Thank you guys for your passion and genius!
...and yet...you manage to make it look so leisurely and effortless ! Genius !
Hi Rick it's Diwas from 'Darjeeling' India. Darjeeling is located on one of a small hill town in northeast india. Today I come to know that how hard you work to make all this beautiful videos. It's my dream to visit Europe and I have seen the Europe very beautifully through your videos. And it also help me to improve my english. Rick I really like every show..Thank you and good luck.
Ethics + Morals = Rick Steves
Hi Rick, as always I have enjoyed watching your travel videos. I must add that one of the best that I have enjoyed is the "The Making of Rick Steves' Europe.' It's wonderful to see the amazing chemistry and team spirit that you, Simon and Karel have and also all the hard work that goes into producing each episode. In three weeks time I travel to Europe for five weeks, and you can be sure that I have watched all your videos on the places that I will be visiting. Many thanks and safe travels to you, Simon and Karel.
Well done! I really enjoy watching your videos.
Top notch quality. I'm so happy I found your channel.
Thank you for taking me on your trips and teaching me about things
How fun that some of the public they film are actually fans of the show!!
A million 👍 for you guys.
I really hope to run into you when I'm in Europe sometime!!! I love your program, your biggest fan!
Thanks for sharing the story, very difficult task but you & your team made it easy.
It's wonderful that you guys make such a good team. I enjoy the info, Rick gives a lot - this distinguishes this show from many other traveling-shows - and i also do like the stunning views of the camera! Thanks for your hard work!
Always refreshing. I have covered almost all the episodes.
Gosh was just amazed at how much work goes into one episode!!!! Very interesting this one too, keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍
To show how familiar I am with this show, as I'm channel surfing through the stations, I only need to see one frame of an episode as going by, without any audio of his voice, and I can tell it's Rick Steve's Europe, just by the way it's being shot, the angles/content. I must have watched almost every episode at least once, and recognize their unique style. It's like a revealing fingerprint, that can be no other show.💪🏼😆👍🏼🌍🌇🎬🎥📼📺
NICE WORK TEAM RICK.
Hmm ! Well, yet another camera to record the original crew. Very lean and mean team especially when you're working on a budget. Must be extremely frazzling to look good when you're simultaneously doing the creative part too. Great job Rick, Karl, Simon.
Thank you Rick for making such a wonderful videoes. I hope I shall visit all places which you have covered in my life time. You are my inspiration for travel independently and locally
I salute you guys! We really enjoyed watching your videos!
God Jul og Godt Nytt År Rick! Your Tours are the very best made ever!⛄
Hats off to all of you
Thanks for showing the BTS! It’s interesting to learn about your process. I’ve watched many of your shows; in general I love them, but I gotta say some of them have too much content and not enough scenery, so it gets a bit boring because it feels more like watching an education show (like those that you watch with your classmates in school) instead of a travel show. Hopefully there will be a tad more scenery in the future episodes. Thank you! 💖💖💖
I am so happy I found your channel! Because I couldn't travel to Europe this year, I was able to do it through your channel! I am a traveler myself, so, I appreciate it a lot! Absolutely amazing shows and sites! I love it! FOUR thumbs up!! I was wondering what kind of crew you have behind all those great shoots. And only 2 guys?? plus you as a host??!! Impressive!! Amazing!! Thank you for your hard work and beautiful sites and videos!! :):)
Thanks for your videos. There must be an extensive editing/post production phase? How long does that typically take after a 6 week shoot?
I really enjoy your video It's my really favorite show Old villeg , different cultures food very interesting to watch Really I like it
Amazing program
Good Job! Continue supporting you guys!
You guys are the best!
This is so nice of you to show us how you guys make this, the general public. For that I thank you. P/s: The show producer, Simon Griffith have an uncanny resemblance to Peter Jackson. From the look to the accent to his speak pattern. Does anybody else feel the same?
After my request Rick visited Finland, kiitos paljon.
I hope next tym u visit here in japan nice team work TengQ so much Mr Ricky steves
One of my favorites tv program
my favorite are the European tours!
nice to get a look behind the scenes!
Awesome show guys!
Love it!
Enjoying ur travel very much
Comapring to some similar tourist TV shows or documentaries with over 100 people in the producing team, Rick's team only has 3 persons but the shows are more fascinating. Moreover, Rick does not like those TV shows create a lot of embrassing funny jokes, but with peaceful and gentle narration, plus beautiful music. The real relaxing and enjoyable tour documentaries.
Love the behind the scenes look! The way how the team works is certainly part fo the magic of the show. I know this was several years ago, but did you produce the most recent shows this way as well? Do you still lug around that huge camera with the smaller professional cameras available these days?
I had to laugh because of watching Rick wandering around basically talking to himself, stating his lines out loud without being on screen and wondering if locals who don't know Rick or what he's doing, if he has mental health issues lol.
Best Ever
I'm going to Europe Tour this year, Your videos are great source of information and guide book for every visitor, helping me a lot to know the history, culture, art and many more things about Europe. Presentation is excellent. Like to watch more videos and became addicted to. Thanks.
Rick and friends: Good work filming these videos...
Love the videos. I am somewhat surprised that you don't leverage the power of KZread to help expand your marketing reach. Namely, using the description field to add more links to tips and other product offerings. This would just seem like a natural fit for such a well known brand in the travel industry. I would dare say that Rick Steves is a top leader.
When do you guys go to the loo? Exciting jobs you guys have!!! Great work!!! Great videos.
Hi Sir Rick Steve i like documentation in different country in history/
I am an Indian, and I like watching Rick Steves Europe on KZread
Should make a making of The Making of Rick Steve's Europe and maybe a making of the making of The Making of Rick Steve's Europe would be good, too.
so nice. what sony camera you use? how you bring such a good sound without xtra microphone?
i like your intro hope you do it for the rest of the video
He doesn't have to worry about walking the magic 10,000 Steps a Day for his health
You can tell by the way this video is filmed that there is another camera person. Who is this person?

I was thinking the same, but it's possible have camera standing with no camera-man ⛄ However this was merely done to describe how they work...
what Sony camera was that one?
Why hasn’t Rick gone to Malta yet?
Ok most of europe the life
Where is my new series? 😀
Hi Rick! I just sent you a Facebook friend request!
