Rick Prime killed our Rick's family because he's a megalomaniac...he essentially wants to control everything and thinks all Ricks should fall in line, however when Our Rick rejected his offer, he retorted...at least that's what shown in previous episodes..

Can’t overstate how much I enjoy the more informed reactions. While crazy lore heavy it was an amazing opener, balanced the expectations and the character the show built in a short time. It’s hard to please all the people all the time, but felt like a good return to form, what they do with it I can’t say. Only hope they stay true to their vision, and can look back on Rick and Morty without creative regret -Spoilers-Comments- Realizing how Rick brushed off Evil Morty, it’s because he knew he didn’t understand the Central Finite Curve. Yet still he offered Morty to take Evil Morty’s offer since he exhausted his options and was worried he couldn’t dig himself out of the hole he was in. Establishes a new dynamic between them, maintaining the moral uncertainty of Ricks motivations but uplifting Mortys self image. Rick admitted child-proofing for Summer and both Beths, the only people he didn’t is Morty…and Jerry We are following the Mortiest Morty, but only the 2nd most Rickest Rick. Our Morty (had) the Jerriest Jerry we’ve seen, sneaking suspicion an Alpha Jerry remains to be seen, expect the current Jerry in their family to have that potential.

Tbh, I wonder what "Evil" Morty would think or do if he actually understood Rick's intentions & motivations. I heard he's planned around season 7 or 8 so they may explore it but still...
