Man there was nothing like a Rick James, Teena Marie, Stone City Band show. I don’t remember how many times I have seen him. But I had the most fun. See back then in DC @ RFK Stadium (43,500) & Capital Center (38,000) festival seating you could seat anywhere & Fire 🔥 it Up. There were no metal detectors, metal wands or body searches. People knew how to act back then. It was so smoky in there that every single person would have to be arrested it was flowing like that. It was Peaceful & Funky. Some of the fondness memories of my young life. Thank You 👑 Rick James ❣️🙏🏽😔🥰

it was good to see Rick Sober and doing well. Sadly a little over a year after this aired, Rick suffered a stroke and he was never really the same after that. He worked hard to come back.

Rick James was on his way back to his Funk throne b4 he passed away. RIP. Brother - Gone But Not Forgotten.

Wow, I THOROUGHLY enjoyed this. All 3 performances and the interview. This man was unbelievably talented. God bless Rick James for giving us the funk. I don't know why I never paid attention to the song with Bobby Womack. It's dope! Probably cuz I was much younger. Aww, wish Rick was still around to receive his flowers. A true legend.

Rick was one of my best friends... He literally took care of me and taught me the Bible .. I was on drugs I thought it would be sac religious but he said baby girl God knew you were going to do drugs today, he still loves you... would you rather talk about God when your high or let the devil and all the evil in! Then there was his mischievous side from his house on Laurel Cyn and Muholland ( Mickey Rooney's old house) I heard then after he got out of Folsem Prison he gained so much weight .. he lived in Thousand Oaks Estates.. he ended dying at THE OAKWOOD APARTMENTS IN BURBANK! I HATE THE FUCKIN OAKWOODS IVE LOST SO MANY PEOPLE AT THAT PLACE!

once again I am shocked I never knew this video existed, the only other person I listen to as much as rick is Bobby and I never knew they performed together , Thank B Taylor

The might be a piccolo trumpet... they're (piccolo's) prevalent in some instruments (Bass, flute etc...). They have a unique sound. And Amusing to see for sure.
