It had the same type collar but it was black fur, maybe showing that Shane’s entire soul was lost but ricks was white, showing he still had some good left

If we're considering what end we'd had in case creators accept Jon's script of S2E12, Shane didn't ever want to kill Rick. I think he was trying to convence Rick on his side, which means to protect Lori and Carl no matter what even if the cost are sacrificing of whole group. That wasn't liked by Rick, so he made an hard decision to murder Shane to keep all people safe, and that's the point where no return left for Rick. He either does everything for all or thinks only about family. But whole group already became his family! That's why he just couldn't leave the people and that's why Shane couldn't stay with them, because he was feeling alone, an forgotten man that does hurt anybody. So I think there was no coincidence. Shane's jacket symbolized a solitude, Rick's jacket was an strength of lovely man, of good father and loyal leader. Well, something like that 😄
