Can't believe that Rick did not ask the Minister how she felt about installing a glass ceiling in Parliament.

I love Rick's stories. I did see the Elizabeth May joke coming a mile away.

I'll start. "Parliament Hill shouldn't have glass ceilings. They should be cold stone with reliefs of infuriated faces glaring down at everybody below."

Did any Canadians pick up on the fact that we can stroll around our center of Federal government, and the Americans can't get near theirs? I think that is more dazzling than a glass roof.

Uh, yes they can. You can walk right up the stairs of Congress and go inside. If you're thinking of the White House, you can't walk up to 24 Sussex, either.

CptSchmidt My bad. I thought the whole Capital area was so security frantic that no one could get in anywhere.

CptSchmidt 24 Sussex is a private residence. The white house is a working residence much like Rideau hall. Which you can walk the grounds and tour.

It was all started in 02 and 07 actually, they are finishing up some of the stuff now. The wiki article has the details, those places were falling apart and not healthy to be in or nearly Secure enough. And thats really hiring Canadian contractors and workers to do it, so tax dollars going back into the economy I'd imagine.
