It's pretty dark but yeah I was surprised Harmon hated it so much. I don't think it's in the top 10 worst episodes of Rick and Morty tbh

I don't think this is the best episode but i do like how it showed how OP Rick is. He could solve like any problem if he wanted to, but he couldn't be bothered

did you notice all of Worldender's thugs were placed in sex positions by Rick after he killed them

It's a relatively common theory that Rick figured out what he did last night early on and when he left at 6:31 he wasn't "figuring out how to unplug this" but instead quickly re-recording the final video and changing it from being about Morty to being about Noob-noob so that he didn't have to admit to Morty that he cares about him. It's noticeable in the final video that the background is different from the others, and he's not in any outfits, and he seems less drunk than the others, almost as if he's acting drunk.

@@alexflores4262 well for one rick didn't look surprised when he saw the party, maybe he remembered that just as much as his last video and told logic to sing about noob noob instead. Although, i kind of doubt that rick would tell logic to sing about how awesome morty is, sounds out of character. So what Logic was singing about was maybe unrelated. and rick had nothing to do with that specifically. EDIT: Of course it could also be an oversight by the writers.

Yes, it was actually Logic. Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland are friends with the guy, he even showed up on an episode of HarmonTown and they talked about getting him into an episode.

in the beginning, I noticed you guys didn't notice so. The "one of every 3rd adventure", was actually continuity from one of the episodes where rick said that if he won the bet morty would be able to choose every 3rd adventure.

I really like this episode, I'd put it among my top ten. I love the subversion of the Avengers, how they're both ridiculously over-the-top and also terrible people, and also what a massive asshole Rick is throughout the episode. It's so perfectly cynical.

I remember when I first saw this episode I thought that I somehow missed vindicator part 1

Rick has literally unlimited Universes at his disposal, makes what he has less valuable.

Vance Maximus was voiced by Christian Slater. Also Alan Rails was voiced by Lance Reddick who was Charon the concierge guy from the John Wick movies.

The main vindicator who dies first is voiced by Christian Slater from Mr. Robot & Heathers

Regardless of how it compares to other episodes, or what Harmon thinks, it still reveals a lot about our main characters. Rick is absolutely right about the Vindicators. Even while drunk, he can dispatch Worldender faster than they can. And he is right about them being the writers of their own press releases; in reality, they are each villains, themselves. So, sure, he's deeply wounded that Morty would call them his heroes when Rick has done more actual heroic things and more efficiently yet in Morty's way of thinking Rick is still an asshole. Morty may like to see himself as the more moral one of the pair, but how many times has his moral decision led to widespread devastation, when simply listening to Rick would have avoided the whole mess? Too many times, Morty! Too many! We tend to ignore Morty's flaws because Rick is such a born scene-stealer, but Morty is blind to how cold he is to Rick...and how that coldness often drives Rick to "rickdiculous" extremes.

I like that Rick kills a bunch of innocent people in this one and you want to just ignore that completely. Well, the first two deaths, anyway. Does it really reveal the "true nature" of people when they are forced to be in some sort of Saw scenario? Granted the space lady was probably evil to begin with, but the rest made foolish decisions because most of their choices had been taken away by a maniac scientist. Oh yeah, also Rick sets bombs on a regular basis I guess because the weight of being so "awesome" makes him not want to live anymore. How cool.

After that, he saved Morty and Summer from the Council of Ricks in a pretty epic way. I agree Rick is no saint. But please give the guy credit where it is due.

@@zoppie we know why morty sleeps like a baby in a later episode, but don't compare morty to rick, rick did way more atrocities and morty is still a kid compared to rick who is a grow adult. Imagine being a kid that when you make a mistake people can die or when you make a decision based on your morals and realized later that it was actually a bad decision because you know nothing of the world. Besides how can you expect morty to trust rick when rick keeps proving that he can't be trusted (aka rick sends morty to do a life threatening task that is supposed to be important only to be nothing essential)

Gillian Jacobs voiced Supernova (AKA Titty Bean [no relation]). She was also in the TV show Community, also created by Dan Harmon. You should check it out for a reaction series.

Continuity! Remember the first episode of season 1 where Morty has to disarm that bomb that drunk Rick made after he passes out.

Its nice that they say „drunkenly improvised Nutrino bomb“ because thats the only reason morty is smart enough to disarm it - it wouldnt make sense otherwise but they always take care that rick and morty makes sense

So they place morty on the thing he was the wrong answer put the thing still went down did the things and nobody died no explosion so I think there are 4 different reasons this could be 1. I’m misinterpreting it and that not what happened 2. Morty was an acceptable answer 3. Crappy design 4 something else happened outside any of my theories If something explains this in further episodes sorry I haven’t watched all of them please no spoilers
