I don't know about you guys but I think season 4 has been "forgettable" for lack of a better word. the very last scene in the season finale is very memorable but the overall season is not it's just not connecting with me.😒

In hindsight, yes. But in reality, no. In Morty's eyes, he found true love. Nothing else mattered. He wanted it to be pure true unadulterated love. Did you notice how he didn't make a save point before talking to his new date? If he made a save point at any time, it wouldn't of been pure. Every time they would of had a fight, he could just go back not learning anything or evolving, hence the whole point of Morty's speech at the end. Life is not worth living for if you're always looking back, not forward. That's why he always thought about it, but never did it. Even when he found it at the plane crash he didn't want to use it, instead called for help because he wanted to try to do everything to preserve his pure life.

I keep saying to my friends if ever there was a consistent character trait either Rick it is that he is petty. I know for a lot of shows they have character charts for keeping certain things consistent (because they change out writers all the time). I just refuse to believe petty isn't on there for Rick. It's just so consistent.

"I can already see where this is going!" You had no idea where this was going.

Never noticed it before but Morty's girl actually came for him when they merged the timelines. And just saw Morty melt himself in the VaT of acid. So if he did not do that he could have continued his relationship.

This is easily my second favorite, only next to rick potion number nine. The emotions, the storytelling, and the cosmic and regular horror they achieved is truly wonderful.

Namely a time-spot saver that allows you to redo bad moments _so that they never happened._ Rick handed him a bald-faced lie. Morty may know that Rick does messed up shiz, but until this episode, he clearly had no idea that he, himself, was considered a legitimate target for that shiz. And that's on Rick.

One of the best episodes in the history of television. So many emotions in 22 minutes.

The part in this episode where morty got a girlfriend,and got in the plane crash with her,and tried to save her was very emotional for me,especially when combined with the music that was playing at the time.

It wasn't a 'soccer' team it was the National Rugby team of Uruguay that crashed in the Andes and ate their co-passengers. One guy struck out and made an arduous journey, but if he went the other way would have found a ski lodge within a day. The Movie about this is called Alive.

The plane crash is based on a movie called Alive which is based on the true story of a South American soccer team that crashed into the Andes mountains and was way off track of where they were supposed to be. This was almost a perfect synopsis of that movie. I recommend watching it cause it hits real hard on humans and their capacity to survive in un survivable realities.

Jerry didn't just grab a random device and point it at the TV. He actually dropped the remote. You can see it happen. He knocks it off the couch with his arms but it falls over the bag and lands behind it from his perspective at which point he looks to his side and just sees it fell into the bag as it's right on top there; or so it seems to him.

The worst part about the girlfriend story is when she shows up at the end only to see him jump into the vat, the last time she saw him before that was when he vanished/died? as jerry accidentally "reset" him 😅😥😂

The way Rick says "what is this FACE you're making?!" Had me laughing so hard 😂😂😂

And that is why we love rick and morty ! This episode so deep and poignant and human while being sci fi animated cartoon .... What a great thought provokingepisode

It was a Uruguayan rugby team stranded in the Andes 72 days and were forced to eat human flesh to survive. Theres a movie about it i think it's called alive.

I really like the part when Morty has given a choice if he would rather continue to risk his life and call for help or rather he would restart the whole situation immediately all over again. He choose to continue instead because he don't want to immediately lose her, he wanted to continue loving a person that also did loved him back without the help of Rick or Rick's gadget. Instead of just restarting their whole relationship from the very beginning and facing a person who he did fell in love with but didn't even know who he is.

This is a great episode. The plane crash story is the best part. It’s cool you brought up the real life event that is was based off.

Morty had this very real and deep relationship that was going so well... and he didn't save his place once? I call shenanigans!

I NEVER would've thought that someday I'd get to see a Pickle-Anthony and a Kacee-Meeseek. You two are the best. Btw it was tough watching Kacee being all sad :c

In the grand scope of things, I wouldn't put it on the level of Cronenberg world. That's proof enough that Rick can't do everything, but that he'll destroy a world for the sake of his own pride, and then leave when the going gets tough. This "Save Point" plot is the absolute worst thing that he's done to Morty personally, at least that we know of, because it was purely vindictive. It's not the worst thing that he's ever done, however. That being said, I'm only counting this against the main Rick and his collaborator. It's been shown that there are plenty of Ricks who have messed up relationships with Morties in general, and the main Rick is generally closer to his Morty than the average Rick is to the average Morty.

I personally think the worst thing Rick has ever done was create a robot that committed planetary genocide, all just to discourage Morty from pursuing a Netflix deal, but "The Vat of Acid Episode" is the one where I decided that Rick is just evil and that if I were Morty, I'd be wanting him permanently out of my life. EDIT: Never mind; I forgot about him destroying the miniature universes.

@@Morrison64 Well, we know Morty isn't exactly a brain, either, since he's 14 and still learning that 2+2=4. And his "Morty Waves" cancel out Rick's "Genius Waves." We know that she must like Morty, too. She did get together with him at the season one finale party. She did invite him to go skinny dipping. Heck, she went through a portal with Rick just to see if he was all right (even after a disastrous date with his "healthy" side). And in this particular episode, she's squealing from the prospect of being with him. I can't think of anything she did that makes her horrible or shallow.

@@zoppie lol oh ya, guess you didnt see the first episode of season 4 where shes taking funeral selfies with her dead grandma...and no they really didnt get together they had like 1 minute before stuff happened, she only notices morty when he's something that isnt him, morty will become something he doesnt care about just to be with her and ya morty is not smart but he could do better then jessica..like in season 1 final remember that girl summer didnt like the nerdy one who went with morty to get hte crystals...I think Her and morty would make a better couple.

The story you guys talked about with the soccer team is a book and a fantastic movie called, "Alive," a very famous movie worth checking out. And yes, along with Pick Rick, The Vat of Acid Episode is Rick and Morty's second Emmy win! Love your reactions!

Morty wasn't even using that remote right. Even if it really *was* a save point remote, you're supposed to save after every success and before every risk so you don't have to redo everything all over again. 1. Should have saved after the first date. 2. Should have saved after making up after that big fight. 3. Should have saved *before* getting on a plane. 4. Should have saved after being rescued and reuniting with his girlfriend. 5. Should have saved after recovering from his injuries. If you're going to savescum, then at least do it right!

Jerry hitting the button hit hard the first time I saw it, but it hit so much harder when his girlfriend came back because the probabilities merged, which meant she remembered their relationship again. And she showed up just long enough to see him jump into the vat.

It wasn't that she remembered but that that all the possibilities merged meaning it did technically happen. She was his girlfirend and experienced everything even though Jerry "possibly" reset everything at one point. Everything technically happened as that's why everyone was still upset with Morty at the end.

Alive was such an amazing movie. Haven't watched it in 20 years probably but it was spectacular.

To anyone getting Jerry's case, Morty should have saved that time and kept the device somewhere else so that sort of accident doesn't happen. Easily not the worst thing Jerry has done, especially since it's not out of spite or malevolence, it's just Jerry being a lazy and impulsive ditz but Rick was being a petty and vindictive psycho was done more emotional damage to Morty this episode.

Morty demanded this _specific_ thing. A gadget that saves your place like a video game so you can go back when you make a bad move. Rick, _in no uncertain terms_ sold him on the idea that that's exactly what he made and handed it over to him. Except we know now that Rick lied and made a gadget that does _something else._ He baldfaced lied to Morty. Then blamed Morty for proceeding on the assumption that his grandpa wasn't a petty lying backstabber. I see this as no different from handing a child a loaded gun but telling the child it's a toy. Go shoot whoever you want, kid, it's completely safe. Oh, by the way, is there anything you want to ask me about it? No? Bang, someone's dead. Hey, my hands are clean. You could have asked me if I was a liar. But you didn't. So that's on you. A great way to traumatize a dumb kid. And make that kid never trust you again.

The book was called Alive: The Story of the Andes Survivors, there was at least one movie based on it called Alive. Yeah, an Uruguayan rugby team went through hell to live. Goes to show you that any person will go lengths to survive. I was pretty sad at this episode. Every time you saw that "save at this point!" line go out, you knew where he'd go back to then at the end, it just kept getting worse with that cool girlfriend as he accidentally saved at worse and worse times. Ouch...fucking Jerry.

It was made into the movie "Alive". They crashed in the Andes in the 70s. Crazy story. I had to watch it in summer school.

I hate Jerry. Jerry is like an SCP thats sole purpose is to screw things up on a supernatural level. If Rick created a nearly impossible trap/maze with Jerry inside that was almost impossible to escape with something Jerry could screw up at the end. He would be out in seconds once the camera shifted off of him.
