Meeting her parents for the first time? his first kiss? His first time having sex with her? Not once did he get nervous enough to be sure. Ok say he was just that confident and comfortable with her, he didnt use it for the next time he was eating cheese puffs? The next time he played videogames? It just dosnt make sense. And that he kept the button so easily accessible

He likely assumed that the gunshots would be significantly faster and less painful. If he fucked up the dive, it would probably hurt pretty bad.

This is still by far Rick's biggest waste of time ever. I believe he claimed Morty would fuck up or something or other, but Morty apparently went months without using the remote. If Morty had just saved more or destroyed the remote he would've bypassed Rick's "lesson". Instead the plot saved Rick from looking ridiculously stupid.

Which is why in the last episode Morty doesn’t wanna get involved with Rick’s bullshit. The two episodes before this glorified Rick and Morty’s close dynamic (Rick saving morty on the story train in space instead of himself and then having heart to heart the next episode). There is no way around ricks lessons. Rick would of had a failsafe if morty destroyed the remote. Also if morty did rick wouldn't have been able to merge all the realities to that single original time stamp if he didnt have another remote or device to do so. Thats why rick didn't explain how the remote worked till after morty was done with it. Thats why he didn't stop morty or warn him of its use till after so he could add salt to the wound. Was it a waste of time oh definitely but the fact rick went out of his way to do all this shows how well prepared he can be. Also to not make fun of him.

jake philips I imagine it would have been improvised by the Storyboard Artists, rather than the animators. Actually producing animated sequences for something they don’t know would be approved, would be a big wasted effort if they said no.

@@josephcalabrese6337 Exactly, thats why the sequence would have been storyboarded out first before getting anywhere near the animation stage, as at that stage there is still room to work out how a sequence is structured. The won't have started animating until the storyboard was signed off, as that is too costly. Usually animated shows and films are maticulously boarded prior to animation taking place. Whereas in live action, they can afford improvise more. A quick shot from a different angle takes much less time in live action than in animation.
