I saw the joke with her a mile away, and I kind of hate that they did it. I know part of Harmond's whole "story thing" is the characters suffering and not being the same at the end of the episode, but I feel like they could have just left her in at the end. Her knowing all the fucked up stuff that Morty did and still wanting to be with him is sweet, and definitely fits into his whole writing design. I really liked a lot of this episode, except Morty's montage with the save device. I felt like it ate up too much of the episode with kind of a lame pay off. I love this show, but sometimes I feel like the plot just revolves around making Morty more and more depressed/suicidal :x

More like constructing a scenario purely to prove his point and then masking it as him proving it to be empirically "right." Rick is a hypocrite. He defends his ideas as all being good just having issues with execution, while either not bothering with Morty's ideas or outright sabotaging them just to prove that he was "wrong." (see also the heist episode where Rick killed millions with a fake convoluted heist just to burn Morty out on the idea so he wouldn't pitch it to Netflix). Turning himself into a pickle was fucking stupid, overly elaborate, and immediately got fucked up requiring luck and happenstance for Rick to unfuck himself, not to mention it being a plan just so he didn't have to go to family counseling. The vat of acid was an overly convoluted plan that required as many steps to cover contingencies as it would've taken to, let's say, lace the briefcase with a modified EMP to shut down the goons' guns in the case of a double cross. And that's just from me, the not-interdimensional demigod level of intellect typing a comment on KZread; Rick could assuredly think of something better. It's Occam's Razor: sometimes the best solution is the simplest. This is also why anyone who thinks Rick is a good guy is wrong, frankly. He may care about his family, but he's also been shown being so fucking petty to go out of his way to psychologically and emotionally harm them (Morty in particular) and legitimately kill millions if not billions to "prove a point" and get his way.

actually despite Rick being a dick... you have to ask yourself what else matters to him? Literally there are so many things of same thing even if you are hurting others by not caring you literally cant care about it best example is:Plastic Plastic:One of greatest products of humanity; easy to make, fast to produce, cheap can be like anything:Durable, easy to break, easy to shape, electric proof, can be used on anything etc... Problem? THERE IS TOO MUCH! Too much that its losing its value and we simply dont care about it "Oh I drank water and now there is a bottle of water in my hand... well... I dont care" *throws away* this is literally same for rick... there is so many mortys, so many of his daughter etc HE CANT CARE anymore sure if he can he will try to save them but he will not grief... how can he? is it possible for anyone to care that much if it was like him?

When Morty goes out to find the backpack it was one of the realest and saddest moments ever. He firsts grabs the remote and he can easily just push the button and go back before he ever got on the Airplane, before it crashed and before he had to eat a person. But it also means everything he's built with that girl, all the love they have for each other. It will all go away. That girl makes him so happy and he loves her so much that he decides to live with the frostbite, being in a plane crash, and turning into a cannibal. Which is why he put the remote down and picked up his phone instead. That's pretty deep... (that's what she said)

And the reason his save point was all the way back there was probably because he didn’t want to cheat with this relationship he had, he could have done over situations like the near breakup fight to manipulate her but he refrained because he really loved her and didn’t want to do her like that. There had to have been some sort of fight or mistake he made, but he still chose to to reset the Save point. Which like you said, is why the Save Point was all the way back to where he first met her. Reminiscent of the heist episode where Rick staged a massive fake heist scheme that ended up killing millions...just to "prove a point" to Morty about heists being dumb and destroying Morty's enthusiasm when he could've made that sweet Netflix money on his pitch. Rick is not a good guy, idc what people say. Even towards his family, which is like the main reason why people say he is a good guy, he is vindictive and petty as shit and will have no issue psychologically and emotionally toying with and harming them, manipulating them, and ruining their potential happiness if it means he gets his way. Even if the entire scenario was purposefully constructed by him to prove it (which in and of itself is a false positive because it doesn't prove he was right...just that it worked out in this particular scenario that he made to make it work).

Which is ironic because Rick was the one who overthought things from the start with the vat plan. Way too convoluted with too much room for things to go wrong and for him needing to work more pieces in to cover the contingencies, especially when you saw how quickly they ended the double cross once they just started blasting. He's just too much of an egomaniac to admit it. Just like with turning into a pickle and even just like assuming nothing would go wrong with the deal in this episode (which he reminded Morty over and over). _The flaw I see in _*_Nahid's_*_ premise:_ *The acid vat, by its very nature, is a way to avoid consequences.* *Nahid,* I don't believe *Rick* included consequences to make *Morty* _learn something._ He included consequences _to simply make _*_Morty_*_ feel like sh¡t._ Which, in turn, was just one part of the acid vat plan. See, *Morty* already knew there would be consequences for doing what he did. Which was _precisely why_ he wanted the device. To completely avoid consequences. . .because he knows what they are. What he may have learned as a result (which seemed clear from *Rick's* reaction this wasn't *Rick's* intent at all) was that *Morty* saw he needed to continue without the do-overs. And that had nothing to do with *Rick's* revelation at the end. So if *Morty* _did_ learn anything about consequences, it was long before *Rick* did anything to show *Morty* the true science behind the device. Showing *Morty* that aspect, was the part of *Rick's* plan to make *Morty* feel like crap and subsequently forces him to jump in the acid. *Which, as I said, was Rick's master plan to avoid consequences.*

Assuming that Evil Morty is Rick's original Morty, i think Rick tried to "castrate" Evil Morty but he didn't went far enough, so Evil Morty started to just hate him instead of fear him, and that's why Rick dosen't spare efforts to fuck up Morty's life so bad that he will be traumatized to go against him

I personally love the meta narrative of the creators (Rick) refusing the ideas of the fans (Morty) while being upset that the fans wouldn't allow them to do whatever idea they want because they think it's stupid or unnecessary and that the relationship between them can become toxic when there is an insistence of an idea on either side. I think the vat of TOXIC acid was a very purposeful metaphor as Rick and Morty were in the acid together at the beginning of the episode in resentment of each other. Plus I think the way they did their opening, displaying the title of the episode right before the opening ends, also is meant to show that it is directed at the viewer. That's all for my meta commentary TED Talk.

Bit of a problem with your idea, Nahid: Rick is the one who concocted this whole scenario. He's the one who insidiously set it up in such a way that Morty would legitimately be (indirectly) killing other Mortys and didn't tell Morty and then rubbed it in his face when Morty _immediately_ regretted it and wanted to make it right. Morty would have never gone with this if he knew from the beginning. And as for the point of Rick "giving Morty the chance" to listen to how it works, Rick played the whole thing off as fun, laughing and joking with Morty and _encouraging him_ to go nuts. And _Rick_ was the first one to indirectly kill a Morty with the reset. _And_ Rick could've done it another way; he could've set it up via time looping like with an actual save state, but he didn't because he "didn't respect it" and instead decided to rip off The Prestige (which is hypocritical, given him shooting down a bunch of Morty's ideas earlier in the episode as being derivative). He purposefully made the device operate like this with the sole purpose of fucking with Morty when Morty inevitably came back to the garage and making him feel bad and feel like shit and immediately go along with what Rick said from there. Rick was just being purposefully manipulative, malignant, and petty, just like in the heist episode: to shut down Morty and fabricate an elaborate scenario and twist and turn it until he comes out looking "right."

Multiple reactors I've watched seem to have a desire to believe that Rick is good simply because he's the protagonist. Having a truly evil protagonist (which Rick pretty much is) is uncomfortable for some viewers. So they project virtue on him where there is none. In my opinion, he has no redeeming qualities. He's just an asshole to everyone around him and has such a fragile ego. And I don't like this idea the writers seem to be pushing that geniuses have to be apathetic. In the real world, the smartest people seem to have the most compassion for humanity. Albert Einstein for example. Anyway, I watch this show because it's so clever and creative and fun, but I can't stand Rick

But if he truly matured to the point where he felt that he wouldn't need it to just quickly undo stupid things, why would he just leave it around? I got that you're just supposed to go with the episode, but I just feel like Morty made a lot of stupid decisions that could have easily been avoided if he actually thought about it for like 2 seconds.

Also, that's not exactly how heartbreak works. Of course, I don't know if completely wiping your memory of a relationship would heal you from a heartbreak; I'm not sure if anyone with amnesia actually put that to the test, and see if heartbreak is actually a physical thing, or an emotional thing, but Morty would be maintaining his memories anyway. Endlessly being stuck in a loop where I respawn knowing I'm about to die, but I don't have enough time to prevent it would probably be worse than the experience of death itself.

Alive, rugby players from Uruguay. Crashed in the Andes mountains. Yes, they did eat the dead. This was a great reference to that. And the music reminds me of Pixar "up" movie 😆😆😆

Eh there is some life in areas like that, but trying to hunt....not going to happen unless you are extremely well prepared and know the terrain, even then something can always go wrong.

If you watch the "Inside the Episode" for this episode kzread.info/dash/bejne/p6OErtawopC1gMo.html it seems the writers intention for Rick was merely an "I told you so".

Rick was trying to teach Morty two things: 1. The vat is great 2. Rick inventions are not toys and to not treat Rick like a toy maker, showed by Rick offering to tell Morty how it worked while knowing he would refuse so that he can throw it in his face.
