Bash Jon if you want to. But he ruled at one time. And he conquered. And he kept that band relevant all of the past years. He is a business genius and a rock and roll icon. everyone gets old, and everyone gets to where they can't do something as well anymore we just need to be glad that they brought us all of that fantastic music

key word here is "they." When sambora did his solo project, it was obvious that his voice is a huge part of the "bonjovi" vocals we know from the recorded albums. That's when I started thinking jon was probably a massive egomaniac and had all kinds of random power struggles with richie. If i remember right, richie even returned for a while, then left again for good... I don't claim to know everything going on in the band, but just from listening to the recent disasterous and very well publicized bonjovi concert footage, the only way i would go back if i were sambora is for more than 1/2 the proceeds. The only way jon can pull off a tour successfully is with sambora taking over the singing, and like i said, it would still sound like the albums because sambora is a huge part of the band's signature vocals.

I don't think Jon can be cured by miracle at this point. Everyone who has been following them over the years, know that he's been having a steady decline since 2012/2013 and it got worse in 2022. It's not a matter of resting. They have performed only 30 shows since 2019, so taking more time off won't help at this stage. I really don't know if there's anything to be done. He has been singing for almost 40 years now, and we all loved those 3 hours shows and those high notes on Prayer, Always, Dry County and many others... The man gave everything but it took its toll. In other words, the damage is done... I'll always be thankful for having them in my life. I just hope that they can be ok and have fun. I love them all.

Jon's voice was already deteriorating in 2005. He already ducked as many high notes as he could get away with at Live 8 in Philly's BFP. Should have taken better care of his vocal cords. Tom Jones is 82 and still singing like 60 years ago, but he took care of his voice. But part is also just DNA. Lemmy Killmister never had any problems and Lemmy wasn't the vocal coach type either.

@@courtneycoulsey Your statement makes no sense....Jon isn't "trying to sing Richie's parts". He has to sing HIS parts. Richie sang harmonies to what Jon was singing. Jon can't do both. With Richie gone, the other guys that can sing have to replace what Richie was singing. I don't remember how long Phil X (guitar player) has been in the band, but I can assure you he has a high and powerful voice that can replicate ANYTHING that Richie was singing. The decline is the result of being the primary lead vocalist for 30+ years.....this has happened to a lot of bands that had one guy doing the malority of the singing.

I understand Jon's dilemma, he got COVID, and lost his voice for two weeks, I myself use to be able to sing higher, but I came down with COVID, just before COVID was a pandemic, I actually use to be able to sing Steve Perry songs, but no longer, now I have to sing lower key material, it sucks, I researched COVID, and in fact it has been effecting many other vocalists! As it weakens your lungs, without proper breathing technique for singers, it's a lot harder to sing the higher notes, I feel for Jon, but it may be time for some lower key songs!

To get that rock raspiness back in the day, he pushed from the throat rather than with proper singing technique, thus causing damage. Dare I say that many guys don't since with proper technique, but some have better genetics or vocal cords and can carry on. I can sing well, but I don't sing correctly. It would take a lot to make this happen, simply because Jon's voice is completely shredded at this point. Just listen to the last several tours, especially the last 2022 tour. He might have permanent vocal damage. It would be sweet to see it succeed -IF he could get his voice back. I mean Jon Bon Jovi was one of the best vocalists in their prime. Especially from 1984-1994. "Slippery When Wet," "New Jersey," and "Keep The Faith", in my opinion, was when they were at their peak.

I'm a subscriber to a channel called "Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy." He's a vocal coach and often does reviews of live singing. He's reviewed some of Jon Bon Jovi's struggles, and according to Mr. Tamplin, it's a matter of learning proper vocal techniques. He can tell by watching clips of Jon singing live, that it's not a matter of his voice being "gone" or "ruined." He just never learned safe and healthy singing techniques that allow one to keep singing at a high level for many years. I wish Jon would invest in some vocal lessons, as I think he has plenty of years left in him. He's not that old, after all. Anyway, I just thought I'd add that to the conversation. I'm a lifelong Bon Jovi fan and wish only the best for those guys. I'm also pumped to hear that Richie might be coming back. Have a good one.

I listened to a few of the excerpts of online shows and it was pretty rough. In any band that has been around for years as Bon Jovi, the singer is the one that has the toughest time hitting what they used to, especially the high notes and screams. Unless other bandmates get arthritis, sick or abuse drugs and alcohol, they can usually keep on for much longer. I'm just throwing this out there, but they could do what Journey did to keep it going if Jon can't deliver what he used to. Again, just an "if". Sure, the band name is Bon Jovi, but it is an entity that encompassed the name, the sound, the songs, all of the people that created that sound. That remains no matter who is up front, as it did with Journey OR Foreigner, etc... Check out a guy in Australia named Tib Horvath, singing Bed of Roses on KZread with Sing It Live... That's like what it would take, IF they wanted to go down that road. I've loved this music for years and hope it continues!

Hope that when they go back on the road that Phil still remains a part of the band. He certainly earned his spot on stage in saving the band twice (2011 and 2013). Not to mention he just has a great energy and presences on stage! I'd love to see them split the work between them somehow, but since Richie just up and left with no notice in the early stages of a big tour he shouldn't just get to come in and take Phil's position completely away from him. I think it would be epic to see 2 absolutely amazing guitarists on stage together like that.

Sambora coming back would be a huge payday on a large tour, if they could pull it off. Plus, he is a great singer, probably at this time, better than Jon. But to hear those old hits with Richies harmonizing (....Dead or Alive??) would be great. My first concert was Bon Jovi in 85 when they opened for Ratt, on the last leg of the Fahrenheit tour (Ratts Invasion... tour). Slippery was just around the corner, before they blew up into the biggest band on Earth for a time.

It's never too late to try to get your singing voice back. JBJ should be able to manage to do that, at least to a certain degree. But he really needs to work on that with the help of a professional coach. Otherwise it's not going to work or to last long. That's what has been my only issue with the way JBJ dealt with that. Never did news surface that he's working on his vocal problems WITH PROFESSIONAL HELP. So yes, I absolutely blame him for not going all the way.

The band JBJ gave the world not only music, but a feeling of life that no one else could give. This can really be confirmed by the fans, as it has been their favorite for 40 years. It's a similar feeling to when you had a childhood crush and 40 years later you still see this person as beautiful as her/him was then, even though this person has changed over time. So see in it the beauty, your youth and everything they gave you of themselves. I hope there will be another chance to go to Jon and Ritchie's joint concert. It would be amazing❤

I followed this man’s career since 1986, he, David and Tico are SO much more talented than Jon (who has incredible skill when working a crowd, but by far the weakest vocal talent of the 4 classic members). I saw Richie play solo shows in ‘98, ‘12 and ‘14. Phenomenal, phenomenal talent. I just wish he had more confidence to stand up there alone. The 2012 shows in particular were a thing of sheer beauty. So much better than any of the many Bon Jovi shows I saw between ‘96 and 2010

As much as I love Bon Jovi I really don't think Jon is going to be able to pull this off. His voice has reached that point where it's worn out. Yes, the fans would love to see it happen but it is along the same line as Motley Crue's reunion tour. Vince Neil's voice is wasted. They did it for the fans but they really did it for the money. I like some of Motley's catalog but I really was into Bon Jovi. In their younger days they blew Motley off the stage. I just don't want to see this big Bon Jovi reunion and the band is spot on but Jon's voice is to the point they have to use Pitch Correction on his vocals. As a vocalist I have nothing but respect for Jon but I would hate to see him embarrass himself to the point that Vince Neil did. I think it's time for Jon to strap his six string on his back and ride off on top. He's had a great run until lately.
