Richard Street is one of my favorite Temptations. He’s very underrated.
Richard Street was a true temptation.
They neglected to say he was already working with the Tempts off stage, covering for Paul Williams.

They neglect to say he was a member of Otis Williams original group.
If you're looking for a SAD ENDING like the video suggests, there isnt one. skip to 3:58 to learn that he died of a blood clot in his 70s in his Nevada home - nothing to make the story sad other than a man lived his life and passed on

RIP🌹🎈🙏 Amen
Papa was a rolling stone will always be my favorite Temptations song along with Just my imagination and Runaway Child, Running Wild. Ball of Confusion was a great song as well.
He was a Temptation for 22 years. (1971-1993). He also sang with Otis Williams and Melvin Franklin in the group “Otis Williams & The Distants”. He sang lead on their 1958 local hit “Come On”.
How about getting your facts right. Most of the songs that were mentioned Richard shared lead. Now what you should have told everyone was his true lead on a super bad ass song was Heavenly!!!! Any Temptation fan knows that. Why don't you all???

Richard did contribute to the vocals on Papa was a rolling stone as did the other members. And had his moments as did all the members on other songs. But Dennis Edwards was the lead on the song & second lead after David Ruffin. And when the awards started coming in the 70s.
Dennis Edwards was lead on Papa was a rolling stone not Richard Street.

So when you listen to Papa Was A Rolling Stone, all you hear is Dennis Edward’s voice??? When you watch the video, all you see is Dennis singing all the way through the entire song?? Wow.. and you call yourself a fan?? 🤦🏽♂️ FOUR different men sang leads on Papa Was A Rolling Stone. Not sure why you can’t hear or see that. Dennis, Melvin, Richard and Damon ALL SANG LEAD PARTS ON THAT SONG!! Wow.. smh..

Most of those late 60s and mid 70s songs they did had shared lead vocals as well solo leads

@@larryjohnsonsings😄 I was going to reply to him saying Dennis Edwards was the lead without mentioning the the members but I think you did a better job with your reply. Yes, give the credit where credit is due. Especially to all the members.😊
Sorry but papa was a rolling stone lead was Dennis Edwards and so was the song shaky ground, let’s get it right now!

Perhaps you’re going by what you saw on the Temptations movie. Unfortunately some of what they showed on the movie wasn’t accurate. Listen to the song again. Dennis lead the first line ‘it was a third of September’ and also the beginning on the second in ‘Hey Moma, is it true . . . ‘ After that he no longer leads. Next Melvin says ‘And Momma, some bad talk . . . ‘ next Richard says ‘heard Papa did some store front preaching . . . ‘ then last line Damon says ‘Hey Momma, I they say Papa was the jack of all trades . . . ‘ Richard last lead after saying ‘Hey Momma, heard Papa wasn’t much on thinking . . . ‘ Damon then as the last line ‘Momma I’m depending on you to tell me the truth.
He wasn't lead vocals on Papa Was A Rolling Stone...Dennis Edward's sing lead...

If you see the video and listen to papa was a rolling stone. Most of the lead was Richard and Dennis. Not Dennis only.

@@keithcampbell6806Exactly. We know Melvin had a line and Damon with the falsetto vocals contributed in the last verse.
