One of the last cars we restored at my shop before I retired was a '67 Firebird coupe. It was one of the few we could find, and the customer got it from Minnesota so it was rough af. Re-skinned it, paint and body, DS sub-frame and suspension, Currie 12, LT4, T6060, carbon driveshaft, and monster Wilwood brakes, and flush mounted glass. He had over 120k in it when it left, and it still didn't have an interior. And that was 2018-19 money. So, paying 10 guys here, and to do a complete with all the upgrades, he lost his ASS at 130k.

$130 grand is way too much, especially with them ugly rims. Old fashioned Cragars would look so much better. ( In my opinion)

I actually work in a shop like this. Not for Gas Monkey specifically, but still. The key things to notice is after a certain time lapse, your "friends" are your customers. Any customer with enough money doesn't care for a salesman relationship, they want to feel almost at home when they enter the garage, and they'll pay whatever they need to to get what they want. $130k is a lot to a broke person, but people that have it as pocket change don't think twice. Especially when the cars are 100% custom.

Richard Rawlings lost in drag races to the 405 street outlaws in drag races, however... his shop produces badass, built cars. Enough horsepower to have fun and be fast. Fast enough to beat anyone in a Real street race. But, being worth its weight?. I would buy a car built by Gas Monkey before I would buy a car built by Midwest Street Cars. At least I would know that it was built right and made to go for a Lot of miles. Not a quarter mile. Well, 1/8th of a mile. He has his strong points, just like they do.
