Rich Mountain fire tower, located on the TN/NC state line (Greene County, TN and Madison County, NC), this fire tower is one of the few in the NE TN region you can drive all the way to. However, the around 6 mile drive up Hurricane Gap Rd requires a high clearance vehicle. It is a dirt/gravel unmaintained road. The Appalachian Trail runs just beside the peak, and the tower has been restored and is open to hikers. It offers beautiful views of a sea of mountains.
