I wonder how much of Lock's inaccuracy is his abilities vs not having timing down with the 1st due to Geno taking most of the snaps all year and last year. Hard to know how the guys speeds translate to how much you need to lead the ball on passes when you don't have that muscle memory.

Rich, this is why I always watch/listen to you. This is why, whenever something happens in sports -- I search for YOUR take. Sports is about the heart, not the muscles. You get this. Sports leverages the best in people; the heart, the commitment, the intellect, and self-imposed discipline. Nowhere but sports does failure in character so quickly translate to failure of dreams. And you seem to appreciate and communicate this so intuitively. Drew Lock's post-game told me more about him and the reasons for his success than did his arm, his talent, and X's and O's. Thank you (and Lisa Salters) for translating sports into a language everyone understands.

Seattle's Defense very often gives up first drive points: Week 1 (TD), Week 2 (TD), Week 3 (FG), Week 5 (TD), Week 10 (TD), Week 12 (TD), Week 13 (FG), Week 14 (TD). So heading into the Eagles game the Seahawks D had given up an opening drive TD specifically 6 times in 13 games so nearly half the time.

You know there are a few times when a young QB has to leave his original team and go play elsewhere in order to circle back to the kind of player he has always been, but couldn't harness in the original environment he was drafted in. Drew, with the proper balance of athleticism, coachable mindset, and fervent belief in one's own self and just keeping that blind faith that it can and will work out had it all come together last night for him and the 'hawks. Just as Fran Tarkenton left the Vikings, and granted: Drew was traded to Seattle, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he came back to Denver to play for them again. Nonetheless, one hell of a 98 yard drive to win the game. Outstanding job by all components of the 'hawks, but especially by that dart thrown by Lock to win it with just scant seconds left in the fourth. Best MNF game of the year.

The Seahawks SALVAGED their season last night. They grabbed a rope a pulled a sinking ship to shore by sheer muscle, determination and balls. Look, I'm a Seahawk lifer and have been since before the team's first summer camp. One of the best days of my life was when the team won the SuperBowl. One of the worst was When They Should Have Run The Damn Ball. But after being swept by the Rams and losing to the Whiners and Cowturds, I had pretty much given up on the season. The 'Hawks historically have this infuriating habit of playing down to the level of their competition in games they should dominate and absolutely stinking during must-win games. Because of these two bad habits, they rarely have that pad of won games to get them through a spate of late season losses. And it takes games like last night to even keep them in the running. But they sho-nuff by-God got it done last night and all props to them for it.

Drew Lock didn't need to re-sign with Seattle last off-season. But he believed this was still the best place for him to develop in his career. They may not make the playoffs. They may not make a deep run of they do. Drew Lock may never become a full time starter. But the environment Pete Carroll creates is exactly what you described. It brings out the best in players! I'm happy for Drew and proud of the way the team played! Go Hawks!!!

John Kitna. Played for CWU central washington university. Was a baller. really good guy. I was a friend of a couple players on the team ( i was usmc reservist, while mt bike racing. so ya, we gelled) anyhoo.....i was in a beer bar with a LB for the team, and in walks Kitna. He don't drink, but he came down to wish his teams best LB a happy birthday. Thats a real good guy and team player right there. ~~~~~~~I get the same vibe from this guy.......I hope he does well and Seattle wins a few super bowls!~~~~~~~~~~ Go Hawks!

Yep, Pat Shumer's offensive scheme replacing Rich Scangarello, Vic Fangio, and a terrible offensive line did Lock no favors. But Lock never threw them under the bus. Russell Wilson dealt with some of that same nonsense last year, particularly the terrible OL.
