Every year I come here to watch how to make this Christmas cake. Never fails me. Omg. And the video with picnic ham. My Lord, thank you Ms. Mazie. Merry Christmas and a Prosperous new year everyone.
This is awesome. Excellent and clear presentation. Ms. Mazie makes me proud to be Jamaican. My brother and I used to mix cake with our mother when we were boys. Me and him used to fight over the left overs in the bowl and the spoon for licking when she was done. Seeing Ms Mazie at work brings back warm feelings of the festive season in Jamaica.

If you don't remember JBC you're too young. I remember this show frim my childhood in the 90's and the host was another lady but I remember this one too.
This is what I grew up watching. She taught me a lot of dishes that I now make with ease

Which of her recipes are your favourite?😃
I absolutely love my culture and appreciate all cultures.
I love the low decibel Christmas music in the background. The cracker crumbs is a great idea, as it crowds out the flour gluten; and prevent overworking the batter. Same as cornstarch does. SWEET SURRENDER - YESS!
When I was a child Aunty Maxie use to make cooking and baking look super easy and I always wanna have a kitchen like hers.. lol
I was quite young when I started watching this show but I always enjoyed it
Lost my grandma 👵 recently and seeing this brings back so much good memories.. SIP grandma

Awww 🥰 I absolutely love 💕 this lady.. I’m about to bake my Christmas cake in China and I’ll definitely watch this video while baking .. 🇯🇲 💕 🎄
Ms Maize and Grace brought a calm yet blissful ambiance at home. Growing up Grace foods was the brand of choice for my mom. If ever my siblings and I were sent to pick up groceries, we knew it was Grace items or nothing else. My mom would always speak of the quality of Grace products " di ketchup rich" today, it is a little challenging for me to choose another brand over Grace. I will definitely be using Ms. Maize's cake recipe. Thanks Grace. Creative Kitchens like your foods brought harmony and togetherness in families.

Love your video. How do you prevent your cake from cracking on top?
Maize can I rent you for the holiday lol please you are such a good chef
just add red label wine to a blender add the fruits then blend them,if you dont have red label wine you can use a sweet port wine.

You did not say how many hours it take to bake the cake.
Likewise, I miss my grandma baking but she used aged bread which I had to grate. . Nowadays, I’m the baker, doing her bday and Xmas cakes. I had to stand by her and help her with the ingredients and then I wash up of course I’d scoop out and eat the residues too.

I believe all children whose parents or grandparents or some other family members bake you get the pan to lick. I did.
Who is watching in 2020??
You can use grape juice for wine also- healthier-no alcohol.
Let me just say 2021 an done bcuz it's only a few hours
Best recipe ever,,thank you
Am watching to do my cake tomorrow
Mi nuh tink mi can manij di tuff crackas inna mi cake Mazie, but I suppose it is used to keep the cake moist. U hand dem trang Mazie, only u can cross it. I am amazed she did not even dip her finger in the batter and licked it off, that's the best part. The cakes were beautiful. Perfection!

I'm a diabetic and also a chef who loves black cake. But because of the high sugar content of dried fruits and rum, I don't use any added sugar to my black cake mix. I have been doing this for years for my family and other diabetics, and you can't even tell that it has no sugar and it is not missed. Give it a try. Use whatever recipe you choose, just omit the sugar and NO sugar substitute is needed.

My mom is Diabetic too and would love to eat cake. So should I just cream the butter? And add all the other ingredients and bake?
@msbemused286
3 жыл бұрын
@@theunstoppableone3515 yes. Cream the butter, then add the beaten eggs a little at a time. Then the other ingredients as usual. It will be great. All you are doing is omitting the sugar, and following the rest of the recipe as directed.
