brown rice is in the stage that has not being polished. to turn brown rice to white rice it has to pass the stage of removal of bran. (so,Brown Rice is passed through machines polishers.) polishers can remove bran and also give it a white glow. it is actually removing the skin of the rice. many manufactures have 1-3 polishers so as to reduce the heat of rice and mainly to overcome reduce broken in the output from BR to WR.
