THIS IS IT!! This is the video I saw four years ago that made me fall in love with rhythmic gymnastics. I never heard of this sport until I saw this video, and I had no idea what I was missing! I remember wanting to try RG after I saw this video, but there were no lessons in my state. Now I'm near a place that has it and I plan on starting in January. I'm 18 now, it's never too late ❤

For me, their flexibility and strength is incredibly beautiful to see because of how much hard work and dedication has gone into this. I have been ill for almost 2 years with an illness that has made me lose a lot of weight through an inability to eat and absorb food, and when my muscles went, my heart broke. I couldn't stand the look of myself anymore at all. Now I am slowly getting better, but of course my appearance is still horrible - but seeing these girls have made me realise: something like this wouldn't have stopped them. They would have simply worked hard and returned to their previous shape. Thanks to this inspiration I've now been exercising again and already look better.

I started training flexibility when I was around 6 or 7. I never thought about RG (rhythmic gymnastics) because I never knew what it was or anything but after watching this video, I found an interest in it. I asked my mom for lessons when I was 9 but there was no room left for me because all classes were full. I was a bit disappointed so I decided to continue with my flexibility and search tutorials on how to use the events (clubs, ribbon, rope, hoop & ball) in rhythmic gymnastics so I know how to use them. I know it’s not the best idea, but it’s the best option I have. You cant do better then your best :)

Stretching. But it's not just that, you also need strength. My hip flexors are terrible because unfortunately at my old studio I was over stretched, and not strengthening enough. Thankfully I switched studios and they're very serious and careful here.

I've always wanted to do Rhythmic Gymnastics but when I was young I had some problems with my bones and I wasn't allowed to start it but now (around 10 years later) I don't have these problems anymore. Just too bad that now I'm 14, so I'm too old to start it. I'm always about to cry when I watch videos about Rhythmic Gymnastics, especially because I'm as flexible as all these girls in the video (I've been a cheerleader for some years), but I don't have any skills and I guess that's why no RG club would ever take me. 😞

It's never too late to start :) If you want to take part in competitions or if you want to be in the Olympic Games it might be- however, if you're very good you might take part too! There was a girl (sorry forgot her name), who was a winner in the Olympic Games, even if she was way "too old" for it. She was 20 at that time.

I think you could! I used to do artistic gymnastics until I had a concussion and had to stop. :( But I continued to work on my flexibility for 30 minutes every day, and now I am more flexible than I was when I was in gymnastics! One key component to getting back your flexibility is to be consistent. I know you can do it!
