Rhythm Doctor Custom Level - Invisible Midnight Shift

Ойындар

(Heh, you like that thumbnail?)
I was quite hesitant about making this for a while. I figured the level was already really good about integrating parts of the song into the level elements, why clutter it up with more nonsense?
Still, I gave in since I wanted an "Invisible" that y'know, was invisible.
Kind of a joke, but for a level that seems like it's meant to keep the visuals mostly obscured, it's not THAT hard to play it through with visuals alone.
One thing I REALLY didn't want to do was introduce many new elements. Especially not Oneshots. It's too easy to just add them to make a song harder. I tried moreso to emphasize the already hard parts of this song.
(btw, were the cockatiel sounds removed? I thought I saw them before but when I went to make this... whatever, I used the oriole so y'know. Had to go find some new sfx
EDIT: Found them, they're in the counting sounds. Good to know for the future.)
Known Issues: I gave conditionals a try. I wanted it so for the dark part, the screen would only light up when you got the hit, or the game notified you when you missed a part. I couldn't get it to work, so now it just always lights up at the right time.

Okay so it's been a year so you probably already know this by now, but if you want something to happen whenever you miss, or hit, or whatever, it works best to put [onMiss] or [onHit] into the Tag section (make sure to include the square brackets). This makes whatever you want to happen happen whenever the game notices you hit or a missed a beat. You can also put [row0], or [row1], or any row number you want behind it, to make the thing only happen when you hit/miss THAT SPECIFIC ROW (it should be the row number shown in the rows tab minus one, so here Miner would be [row0] instead of [row1]) So if you wanted the fog to clear whenever you missed a beat for Miner, Hailey or Oriole, you'd put in an event that changes the fog's opacity, and put: [onMiss][row0][row1][row2] into the Tag section. Using the "Last hit with perfect" conditional only works if it's placed a few beats after the hit. Essentially, if you want to do something like "Make X happen whenever Y happens", it's better to use tags. Even if you already know, I'll just leave it here for others to see

That's... a lot of useful info actually. I still have a limited knowledge pool on the actual code-ish stuff, so I really appreciate that. Thanks!

@@kingheron109 Okay one last thing, as far as I know, only the tags onHit, onMiss and onBeat work. There might be more, but I haven't heard of any And also if you want 2 separate hit or miss-based tags, or if you want an easy way to disable some without disabling the others, you can also just put other text around the brackets without changing the way it works, like [onHit]a Or [onMiss]verse1 Or whatever Okay now I'll stop

@@rubenvergouwen1280 More tips are always appreciated! In fact, I may have a way to use that info in my next level. (But I'll need to test it out first)

level desc: Miner and Hailey are going through a minor relapse. Treat them the best you can with the immensely decreased visiblity.

The fact that Oriole's chirp doesn't change per beat (unlike the bird counting) greatly upsets me.

Funny enough, I actually had a handful of Oriole noises to go for each beat, but I could only choose one for the beat sound. (I mean... I guess I could've just played every single sound as an independent sfx in the audio tab, but that sounds like a bit of a pain of a workaround.)

In the rooms tab, you can move rooms like rows.
