good evening how beautiful is the blooming Rhynchostylis gigantea 😍, there is a phalaenopsis gigantea species in my country that is also that beautiful with wide leaves and big flowers 💕🌸👏👌👍

Hello again Missiva 🥰 Thank you so much for being here. Yes, I also know about Phalaenopsis gigantea, I have seen it but I don't have it. I have other Phalaenopsis though, some are species others are standard types. My standard types are all in spike and some blooms are fattening up already. I am ansious to see the blooms opening wide. Ours we actually water more than a normal vanda, so I guess it is very forgiving both ways! Thank you for sharing

Estou encantada com ela também e ao mesmo tempo me sentindo muito humilde perante esta floração. Isto porque, no fundo, tudo se deve a ela pois não fiz nada demais, pelo menos nada que não faça a outras que não estão indo tão bem e ás vezes até morrem. Wow I loved it! And good to know it doesn’t need that much light / can tolerate low light at least. Since mine are recovering from me burning then in the sun i have out them in a bit of a dark corner. Thank you Fernanda!! 💜🖤🤍

That is one thing I still have to understand, I mean, to some orchids we do what is supposed to do and they are non bloomers. While others bloom even very young. I wonder if what SVKL suggested is right, maybe too happy to bloom. I have that same problem with my Ansellia africana, it is large and beautiful but no blooms 😬

Hi Ileana, I hope you do get another one. I had two of these and they were blooming at the same time but one of them died of a bacterial infection 2 years ago. Hi Fernanda, great video and very informative, thanks for sharing. I love my rhyncostylis gigantia red! As you said they produce lovely long lasting blooms and I adore the fragrance. Mine is currently bare root but I'm going to add lava and may be large bark but haven't decided yet since I'm waiting for blooms to finish. Thanks for sharing and happy growing 😀!

Those two blooming inflorescence are exquisite, and you say fragrant, a real beauty. Spring in Portugal has arrived, I see. Let's delight in the increase of daylight hours and feel warmth when we step outside into the garden. Your porch area looks so inviting Fernanda.

Hi Margaret, they are really exquisite. The fragrance certainly is typical but also a bit too powerful to my liking but I am getting used it. And oh yes, spring is around the corner. The sun is nice and the warm but temperatures are still low. Which is normal and even necessary. Soon I will have to crack on revamping the garden. We had so much rain till recently that there is a lot to do and I don't have the same energy I used to. Anyway, one day at a time. Happy weekend to you and Keith, hopefully a sunny one !!!!

Hi Fernanda! I love mine so much too that I got two more baby ones last Spring and it sure grows pretty fast. Your two spikes are so gorgeous and good to know that gigantea does not need as much light as vandas, thank you for that tip.
