Hi and welcome to my orchid channel! :-) I post 1-3 times a week!

Hi there! Well, I,ve having cravings for shopping orchids!
With all the webshops closed for the winter period all I can do is shop at the gardencenters available in my area.
I just went to Mölnlycke gardencenter not far from Gothenburg, Sweden where I live and found several "non gardencenter" orchids lurking about ;-)
as for a couple of huge Rhynchostylis giganteas!
Follow me on a trip to the GC and we willalso look at my present rhynchostylis collection and setup.
Thank´s for watching! Happy to see you here!

Hi there! I have renanthera and arachnis and pure vandas and their hybrids as well 😁 I just need to adjust their environment to see if it will get them going bloomwise.

Visst var det den finaste!? Dyr som sa**n men istället för en massa annat onödigt köpte jag denna istället. De på blomsterjätten var mindre.

Hej, first of all the UFO plant (Peperomia) can flower, mine did, was also surprised. My money tree (Grassula) did that too. Even ordinary lettuce flowers when not harvested in time (grew up with a veggie garden). Guess what... watched your clip - just in time - before I went to the Orchid show. Now I am completely overwhelmed back home with my feet 'high' and a glass of demi-seco sparkling wine. I just couldn't believe it but many vendors had Giganteas, in all sorts of colours, and smaller than the one you purchased, and usually only one spike. The lowest prices were around 45 €. Despite the usual cloudy and cool weather it was almost the only orchid that really had a profound scent. Had to think of you 😊Will mail you a show-report tomorrow. Btw no garden center ever has wrapped any plant I bought. Its DIY here. Many regards!

Wow so now you've been to the show!! Please do send me a report maybe a few pics of the whole area just for imagining I was actually there myself 😁 yesterday orchid days at my lokal gardencenter where I always go since its the best one! The UFO plant surprised me, the other day I saw my very first painted nettle in full bloom in a display window to a pet vet. The money tree sounds interesting. When I was little people often had bushes? with round flat white alomost transparent flowers, do you know what these were called? Abyway I bought 8 orchids lately ( videos coming) so now its time to sell/divide a few to accomodate them well. Talk soon have a great weekend 😍

HI Karin , you got yourself a great new orchid! I got mine in spike too about two years ago, but mine hasn't bloomed for me since then too! May be they will start spiking a bit later in spring? Good luck with yours and happy growing.

Rhynchostylis coelestis was reclassified as Vanda in 2021. Don't expect to ever see the name of Ploenpit to change to Vanda anytime soon, possibly never, once a plant is registered with a name it tends to stick.

Thank's Michael! So the info about its 'parents' was updated then!? So I guess I now have a vanda coelestis blue then 😁
