🌍Rhondda MP SIR Chris Bryant🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

In this video, I chat with Cardiff-born Rhondda MP Sir Chris Bryant who is also Chair of the Committees on Standards and Privileges. He discusses his childhood in the U.K., Spain, and how he became fluent in Spanish (the late Eddie Butler was his Spanish teacher).
Moreover, he talks about the benefits of learning another language (e.g how he managed to get a woman released from prison in Laos!) and how he's gone on to learn French, Latin, Greek and Italian.
This is a non-political and positive chat that will inspire and motivate you.

I like how nonchalant he is about his house being burnt down and having stones thrown at him, like the typical day.

I'm wondering why the Welsh language wasn't mentioned. It seemed so obviously relevant, given he represents a Welsh constituency. Cardiff now has the most Welsh speakers in Wales.

We didn’t go into detail as I don’t speak Welsh (although I know a lot of vocab) and I don’t believe Chris speaks it either. The chat was more about the benefits of learning a language in general. I hope that people, especially in Wales, can take motivation from this interview to start learning another language. And if Welsh is of interest, then definitely go for it. Are you a Welsh speaker?
