I see it in every video like this but I really do have Rh null and my 1 year old son was born with Rh null and this video is wrong about the number of people who have it that number is only for documented donors I've had to "donate" my own blood twice a year for the last 20 years in case I ever needed it my Great-grand Mother had it and was on the registry we are of Nordic/Scandinavian descent there are a few thousand people with Rh null but only a few in the national donor registry

@@lisawanderess Other than my Great-grand mother I haven't met anyone in person who has it I've been contacted multiple times by people from a group or something that are apparently from the same haplo-group or whatever wanting to geno-type my blood but they kinda weirded me out with their persistence because no one ever knew about it until I had a bad accident three years ago requiring some serious surgeries and it's like they got my medical history or something they even offered to come to my house and knew where I lived somehow

This is the kind of thing you feel proud of until u need a blood transfusion.

Delighted to have come across this video. I don't recall any of my science classes ever mentioning Rhnull blood type. Neither did a visit to the blood bank for an excursion with a science class I don't recall any mention Rhnull blood type. The blood bank is in Australia and Rhnull blood type was discovered in Australia in 1961. I look forward to learning more in future about Rhnull blood type. Every day we can learn something that was not known or knowledge denied.

If you’re unfamiliar with blood groups, the difference between Rhnull and Rhnegative, or why golden blood is so special, here’s an explanation! :) (should take 1.5-2.5 minutes to read - I promise, it’s simpler than it seems!) The ABO blood group system and RH blood group system are 2 separate blood group systems. They’re just 2 of *33* blood group SYSTEMS. What do I mean by a blood group system, you ask? Well, each blood group system categorizes whether or not a certain type of protein/sugar is attached to someone's red blood cells. *We call these proteins/sugars antigens* , and usually we name them by letters - you may recognize the A and B antigens from the ABO blood group system. In the ABO blood group system, you’re checked to see if you have A or B antigens; *no other antigens are considered in this system; only A or B.* If you have A antigens on your blood cells, and do not have any B antigens, this means that you have type A blood. -Having B antigens & no A antigens=a person with type B blood -both A&B antigens=a person with type AB blood. -Null for any A or B antigens=person with type O blood. (No, O blood type doesn’t have “o” antigens.) In the Rh, or Rhesus, blood group system, there are many antigens-*at least 45.* Some of these antigens are D, C, E, c, and e. *Normally, only the D antigen is checked for* - if you do not have the D antigen, (which says nothing about the other 44 antigens in the Rh blood system,) you’re considered to have a negative blood type. So, when someone says they’re Rh negative, it is extremely likely they mean they’re simply negative for the Rh*D* antigen, and have many of the other 44 antigens. This is because it is incredibly rare for someone to not have *any* of the 45 antigens in the vast Rh blood group system. Only ~8% of people are RhD negative, _and that is only one antigen._ Now, imagine being negative for *all 45.* That’s the Rh null blood type, the blood type people with golden blood have, and that’s why it’s so rare.

I am O- RH- I am blessed with a 6 month old, who is RH+ (so is her father) It was extremely hard for me to go through my pregnancy (I had to get three RH shots, beginning, middle, end WITH NO GUARANTEE she would make it) and the chance of my daughter being healthy and happy was “slim to none.” She is now the the healthiest baby I have ever seen.

My sister in law is O- and gave birth to three healthy kids. It really isn’t that dangerous if you take the shots.

Golden blood is also anemic. So people with that type may suffer ill effects depending on the severity of the anemia. Their blood is also so rare that they join a registry and live in protected anonymity akin to the witness protection program.

This was why cell salvage machines were invented, for rare blood types they’re a lifesaver. Instead of wasting all that blood they’re sucking up, it filters it and re infuses it. Better still most transfusions are slight mismatches so you nearly always get a moderate reaction With your own blood you get a perfect match.

It was warping of facts to the point where they really just weren't facts anymore to make clickbait titles. What actually happened is they managed to *very* temporarily make a tiny quantum system become less orderly over time rather than more orderly. Essentially reversing entropy, not time. Still a reasonably big deal, but nowhere near the mark for reversing time itself. I've probably got something here wrong, look it up if you're interested.

I don’t know my blood type

I know 2 people mother and son with RH Null blood it’s scary as if they get in an accident or anything they can’t get a blood transfusion like the rest of us. It was mentioned during an exam to the son that he can’t get anyone else with the same RH null blood pregnant or it’d be very bad and lives would be lost basically. Doctors are always wanting to study their blood more because of how rare it is and always want vials from them.

There are other options for blood transfusion in individuals with Rhnull blood type. Think plasma expanders and colloids, you can keep the blood circulation going to avoid severe organ failure.

I don't know, it seems like having gold for blood would make me pretty heavy, but alright...

Don't do recent comments, your gonna find thousands claiming they have it

I remember reading a comment from a guy who has a rare blood type and he said his mom wouldn't let him have clinical trials where the procedure requires to draw blood from him. He said the doctors/nurses or whoever was in charge would always find a way to draw extra blood so they can study it.

Yes I have it and dont ever liked to have blood drawn. Ever. But I have some reserved for myself. But if someone needed I would give to save a life.

For yall those confused with Rhnull and rh negative, there are 50 OTHER RH FACTORS. C, c, D, E, e, capitalization matters. Rh negative just lacks the D, but usually has atleast 1 of the others. While RHnull has absolutely none, not just D, everything.

Dang make that 44 ! I in fact have the golden blood. Rh negative/ AB- nobody has ever hounded me although one lab tech got super excited to draw my blood once. And yes comes with health issues. And doctors don't keep my blood type in mind...which could help me if they just would

You can just see some cheesey vampire novel where someone cracks open a vial full of this stuff after a special occasion like it was a bottle of rare aged alcohol

Rh null is equivalent to O. Rh+ is equivalent to AB. Rh- is equivalent to either A or B

I'm Rh O negative/ null . We don't get sick very often or not susceptible to man-made diseases and if our mother is RH positive her body tries to kill the unborn child. We have very sensitive hearing and vision. Also can go long periods without sleep. Most of the Cherokee people are Rh null. I've also traced the blood line back to the Nephilim giants. You know the children produced from the fallen angles that came unto the daughters of men .

Exactly like inserviced. My twin and I had this issue. Unfortunately he passed do to a major health issue and a transfusion. He should have gotten his own blood back but never put it in a holding cell for emergency reasons..
