I am 50 Years old and have only one finger (left pinky) affected in DIP joint. I am not sure why but I noticed it all of a sudden then had an X-Ray to confirm some kind of arthritis.. Osteoarthritis maybe?
Helpful video. My fingers are really sore and getting worse.

If it was rheumatoid arthritis then you treat it with DMARDS, basically immunosuppresants, the main anchor med it Methotrixate +/- another 1 or 2 other drugs like other nonbiologics ( Sulfasalazine/Hydrochycholoriqune/Lefunomida) or biologics (like TNF alpha inhibtors. Smoking cessation, good life style, physiotherapy etc.
