Sooo Poopy Pants, what's the fix? Just unplugging and plugging back in is a bandaid solution. What caused the code 12 in the first place.

Good point, Poopy Pants Wannabe! I originally shared this for my heating contractor to think about. In the end, they didn't help me. My solution was to change the dip switch for "default" inlet-exhaust length to "long" inlet-exhaust length. After I did that, I saw no Error 12 ever. I am not a certified technician. This is not advice.

@@peefer1970 LOL. Thanks for your response. My unit was installed in 2017, and I just started getting code 12 a few days ago. Another vid talked about cleaning the filter. Apparently the Manufacturer advises that it should be cleaned semi-annually. Since, I've never cleaned mine, I did that yesterday, and so far so good. If I get code 12 again, I'll try your dip switch fix.

Just curious if tweaking the DIP switch fixed your problem.... My Rheem is a year old and I've been getting the code for a month or so. I doubt the ignitors would be that dirty, so I just adjusted the DIP switch. My intake/exhaust runs are about 12 feet.

@@scottpugh9586I had the HVAC company come out and check it. It also turned out that the heat exchanger was leaking. Since I had a 10 year warranty, they replaced the entire unit under warrantee. I only had to pay for the install.
