I like the chnage they made to having Allicient and Rheanyra actually grow up together and have a friendship. It makes the inevitable war all the more tragic when in reality it started of as Two friends.

They actually did bond together during early life in the book, but alicent was already a grown up and rhaenyra a kid.

I love how in this scene Alicent is still wearing the colors of the Targaryen's black and red, signifying exactly where her loyalties still lie as of this moment. She truly is Rhaenyra's friend at this point in time

This gave such a beautiful insight into the bond they had as friends and the bond they inevitabally share as women. To bad they couldn't put their differences aside and be each others allies and instead followed the rules the men had set to work against them. Neither won in the end.

Even if I’ve become wary of/opposed to about 80-90% of changes made to the ASOIAF lore since partway through GoT, changing the nature of Rhaenyra’s and Alicent’s relationship to “childhood friends turned bitter rivals/enemies” is a change I do support and think is an improvement. It adds another level of tragedy to the Dance of the Dragons

Totally shipping them, they are so cute together, and would’ve loved to see them have a secret romantic relationship. Also just wish more young girls in general would get together, cause girls mature faster than boys, and it’s a great way to get some experience, with someone you already trust and who you’re very close with anyway, as many girls are.

I'm actually re-reading Fire and Blood before season 2 airs. Just past Viserys death onto the green council.

I seriously wish that we'd gotten a full season of younger Alicent and Rhaenyra. I get that there's not that much "action" at that time, but there could've been such interesting political and emotional arcs. To satisfy people who want fight scenes, make more than two scenes of Daemon's war. If you're going to fundamentally change the dynamic between Rhaenyra and Alicent, then take the time to show that changing!

Aemma Arryn had to endure so many stillbirths and miscarriages just because Viserys wanted a son. He cut her open for the little possibility that their child is a son.

@@BleedingGrafitti Nah, Euron's been to Valyria. There's no need to take everything seriously. Mine wasn't a serious comment. I know the story of Aurion and his disappearance. And we all suspect, like Rodrik the Reader, that Euron might've lied, but the possibility of him having been to Valyria makes him more interesting as a villain. It's seems too obvious that he lied. Not even a "omg he lied??? Twist." The real twist would be Euron having REALLY survived Valyria.

It's scenes like this that make the rest of the show make like...zero sense.

Worst Rhaenerya did was not tell Alicent that she was making out with Daemon and this comment who she clearly didn’t thought much about,on the other hand Alicent seduced her father all behind her back and made her son usurp her throne,it’s clear who is the bad one
