Controversial but a very interesting relationship and okay in-universe. I loved the build-up of their relationship and the Targaryen family dynamics between them. The chemistry between Matt Smith and Milly Alcock was great, the almost kiss scene at the wedding especially. I think they portrayed my favorite iteration of the relationship in the show.

In fact, I hate the fans who self insert her and only see the value in the character based on how hot her scenes are with her uncle. Quite frankly, I’m glad there will be less scenes between the pair in season 2 so people like you can remain obsessed with him and leave Rhaenyra alone.

@alexissimpson5819 My point is that you complain about me liking Daemyra would still be applicable if I liked the liveless version. I’m not going to repeat all I said in my other comments but I’d be easy for me to make self-insert claims too and make assumptions about you too over casting preferences. I’d say that there’s a problem with the writing if a relationship is the most interesting part of a character for a sizable portion of the audience, though. Regardless, this ship has a solid fanbase so you are going to keep hearing about it, good or bad.

Maybe you’ll just remain obsessed with the first five episodes of flirting between an uncle and niece. The ship is interesting to people because women are in love with Matt Smith. It has nothing to do with the value of Rhaenyra’s character. Considering they’ll be apart and at odds with each other for most of season 2, there will be no reason to be obsessed with it.

Everyone praising Milly (rightly so she is amazing) but Emma Darcy is perfect for adult Nyra and their chemistry with Matt is incredible!!!! The way they express their love for each other after being apart for so many years... it's a different dynamic to their younger selves that were straight up just flirting. When they are able to reconnect after a whole decade of wanting to be together there's not just desire but also pain in their eyes and hurt of what both of them sacrified and surprise of not really believing that is really happening. They are essentially different people

Game Of Thrones: Cersei to Sansa: Have you bled yet? Sansa married Tyrion( an adult man). Sansa in the series was an adult for Westeros but a child for our times. The actress was underage by the way. House Of The Dragon: Young Rhaenyra is played by an actress who in her early 20s. Rhaenyra in the series is not waiting for her period, she already bled and was a woman that could get married. The writes even adjust to the audience stupidity and sensitivity about not being able to differ between fictional and reality and not being able to accept that the normal for a time where the story is inspired it is not to wait until you are 18 or 21 to be considered and adult, and they even declare Rhaenyra to be 18 in Westeros. 😂 Still the crusaders are more annoying than ever. 🤣

So true, the people whining about how gross the relationship between Daemon and Rhaenyra is are totally ignoring the historical context in which the story takes place, and expressing how bad that relationship is based on the norms of today’s society. Ignoring the historical context of "House of Dragon" would overlook crucial factors shaping characters, conflicts, and societal norms. It's akin to trying to understand a person's actions without considering their upbringing or experiences. Historical context provides depth, enriching the narrative by grounding it in the realities of the time period, including politics, culture, and social dynamics. Without this understanding, character motivations and plot developments may seem arbitrary or disconnected from the world they inhabit. But apparently there are many parents allowing their little kids to watch shows such as “Game of Thrones” and “House of Dragon” and those little kids are so incapable of understanding a story by its historical context.

I mean how can we judge the past? And the present, how can we judge an isolated indigenous tribe? I am thankful that we evolved as society and live longer, so now children have more time to be children and not being pushed into adulthood, but it is very arrogant to judge a time that we were not around and even worse getting mad with people enjoying good fiction stories. These people should volunteer to help real young girls in dangerous places instead of picking a fight with people that enjoy Westeros and the Targaryens.

But how the book is written, it's set up to feel like more than one person's version of what they witnessed and they are a few places, that whole thing included, where the narrarator writes that so and so says this happened but we know they favor a certain side or are unreliable. That's why I loved the book. The unique pov. You can tell the show is kind of leaning into clarifying why or how things happened, like alicent misunderstanding vizzy boy on his deathbed. So I'm unsure how they'll do that while fitting the character they've kinda set up for show daemon. If they go there, I'll be excited to see how they do it.
