What's your thoughts on the RG35XX 2024? Needed? We love that CFW works on day one, but the price makes it a tough recommendation from us initially. $50 before shipping is not bad if you don't have a 35XX Plus yet, but we'd love to see $40 - $45.

Real goal is confusing the customer into spending more money on the same thing across all platforms, don’t get me wrong the devices themselves are amazing, however I don’t agree with selling 8 different versions of the same thing broadcasted as a new product

I bet they were running out of the chips that were in the original OR they have a boat load of the newer chip to get rid of.

I bought the new version 2024 Rg35xx Plus and incorrectly formatted the included SD card because of a video on KZread and everything is deleted, now I can't even turn it on 😢can someone help?

Dunno, why get that one instead of a plus or h? At that price and no wifi its hard to pull the trigger, maybe just that you can get more ironed out firmware? That if that even works

Here's the actual reason why ... Someone at the warehouse determined that they ran out of the old guts for the 35XX ... But they still had a lot of shells, triggers, etc. So they crammed the new insides into the old shells. I doubt there's any strategy behind anything that Anbernic does.

So the new as no wifi and bluetooth?

Does that Amazon case fit the RG35XX Plus well? I was looking at that case recently.

I still think this is such an odd decision, though, I'm stoked for the 35XX SP! 💚

The hell?? I had no idea the form factor of the plus was slightly different this is so confusing why

What on earth are they doing? They have the plus model for barely $10 more with WiFi, hardware, and an improved chip set. Instead of focusing on new and useful products, they just did a refresh on a handheld that didn’t need it.

Probably OG RG35XX will be discontinued and this will take its place, price will go down quite a bit for sure.

How necessary would you say it is to get a new SD card for this device? I bought the '2024 RG35XX'

There used to be a lot of issues with the cards all of these companies used, but I personally haven't had one die on me in the last two years or more. For something like this though, getting a quality 64 or 128GB card is still not a bad idea because they're cheap as heck.

uuuh, so has this the old dpad and shoulders? That alone is worth paying more for the plus...

What Pokémon games are in the 2024 rg35xx

They must want to keep an edge on having the cheapest best handheld

Agree the xx 2024 is in a bad spot unless priced a little above the original xx

rg35xx plus minus is the only correct name 🤓 It has one win over the plus and that's the grey bezel - looks way nicer when the screen is on.

Next up, RG35XX+ Plus!

I'm going to guess they had an excess of the chip in the 35XX plus and threw it into the 35XX +/-

the point is this for me. If anbernic gets rid of the first version and leaves only this "new" basic version together with the rg35xx plus then it might make sense, if it keeps all 3 versions then it really won't make any fucking sense for me!!

Probably, although if you're someone who went all-in on the 35xx customization bandwagon, I guess you could upgrade your tricked out OG shell and buttons with a more powerful chip.

Tonne this does not complement the 35xx/35xxp line, but probably will replace the og. Having sane chip throughout the 35xx line could give for instance advantages in the sourcing price, it surely gives advantages for their FW development, whichbwil concentrate on one SoC only. One thing I struggle to understand is why no BT though... I think a wifi only chip and a wifi/BT chip cost basically the same

@@retrohandhelds yes. Since they calculate shipping based on address, I didn't mention it. But when the RG35XX H and plus was $46 on AliExpress a few days ago, it was still more expensive without shipping. Wait for a sale.

Can play up to yuzu! But since they were closed down, the device can only play up to ps1...

Nobody needs this, at least not if you can afford the Plus and i know no one who can't. It renders Garlic 1.4.9 useless, if this one replaces the RG35XX. A further move for Anbernic into the Stock Firmware Abyss. The writing on the wall...
