Wow, the last game, it could have easily gone the other way, and what a game! Both players did a fantastic job, one executed a great build, the other did everything needed after finally finding it out.

The second game is just insane... Same feeling as the 3rd game against Serral at ESL Winter. Also curious if anyone noticed that in 2d G both have the same apm. I mean literally the same 554-554 hahaha

for the record, the burrowed banes at 29:51 did indeed go off and it was pretty big

yeah my bad for not getting that on camera I realised as I clicked back that I'd missed the army turning back. It was 2 banes for 10 marines, very nice bomb for reynor

The thing about the second game is, you could already see this in game 1 as well, Reynor goes up to such a high drone count he actually mines out his first 3 bases before Terran. In game 1 he closed it out before that really started to hurt him but the second game went long enough that he completely mined out those bases, and then had to transfer his really high drone count to outlying bases that were vulnerable to Clems lib harass. So, while Reynor was ahead on income and on supply for most of the game, he eventually ran out of time and couldnt max out anymore.

that game 2!!!!!!! holy crap!!! After Raynor killed clem's army and then got the planatery at the front (5th), I was just thinking raynor has this, he had 1k bang and was more or less remaxed and Clem was at 137 with 0 bank. Raynor did go for the kill and somehow clem hold him off! Raynor was all over him top bot, middle and somehow clem just kept defending kept moving his libs kept up the harass. Just wow these two kids! If they keep this up I feel like they are hugh favorits to be in the finals at Katawice.

If they're both playing like this, we're in for some special games in the upcoming tournaments.

Reynor has so much respect for Clem skills in the last game that he taps out instead of retreating to defend the counter attack from Clem. Top notch plays by both players.

Not gonna lie, this Reynor style reminds me of Happy's WarCraft 3 style A LOT. Now young Reynor just needs to start micro like Happy x)

What if wednesdays sound like fun. I would love to see you do something in that vein again where players resume from replays after defeats. Maybe instead of playing a full series, a match could be a single map where each player has 3 redos?

On the topic of flash freezing people, completely impossible, even if you had air cold enough... which is cold enough to turn air into a liquid (air is not just oxygen so it got much lower boiling point than just oxygen) you have the problem of heat exchange, as a gas air got pretty poor heat transfer ability, you can be in a 100c sauna for hours without air transferring enough heat into your body for it to be an issue, how the fuck would it freeze you solid in seconds? Hours plausibly

The only accurate science in that movie was the gulf stream slowing down and causing colder winters on the northern hemisphere. But this is happening on a timescale of decades, not days.

to be fair Clem has had periods where he was unstoppable in TvZ multiple times in the last few years. Ever since the start of this year he started beating Dark + Korean Terran and Protoss players consistently. They were always the problems for him at big LAN events that meant he could only win online EU regional tournaments. Since he started dominating Dark this year + getting a positive winrate vs Maru/Byun/herO at LAN he's become unstoppable. Baneling nerf and map pool change definitely effects things, but you can't take away Clem's credit for a pattern that was emerging before the last patch that nerfed baneling HP

There's a looooong section of the second game during which it seems as though Reynor is larva-starved. We don't see many queens, and the few times we see hatcheries they're not injected, and yet Reynor's prod tab keeps showing units that aren't queens. I wonder how viable the decision to remake the queens instead of building non-stop army was. Had he been able to hatch more larva, could he have gotten more units from 20 minutes onward? Or would that have crippled his army to the point of being instantly overwhelmed by Clem?

I didn't notice many moments when he didn't instantly remax so not sure if that slowed him down too much. In these games there's so much action though it's super hard to ever check injects so not sure how well he was doing on those

Eventually he couldnt remax because he ran out of minerals to mine on his first 4 bases and the other ones kept getting harassed by libs. The larva were not the bottleneck.

34:57 as a zerg this is just pure sadness to watch. he played so super amazing, and still looses. There's a tendency for zerg to loose whenever they try to end the game. They are far ahead everything going well, and then they try to end it, and it just goes down hill (also liberators are pretty insane) - I think a better option would have been to secure bases and bank up. when he was ahead, instead of trying to end it, but i don't know. interesting game.

Might have been able to slow it down and go for a more clinical Serral-style victory, but I think just remembering that hydra range woulda been key. Reynor said after that game "If I don't make lurkers and just keep going with ling-bane-hydra I win" and I think he's right

Yeah, KZread has ruined me for natural disaster movies. If I want to watch that, I'm looking up real life tsunamis and volcanos.

The second game was especially great! I'm also glad that Reynor showed how a top zerg can deal with WMs microed by THE top Terran. I'm tired of all the balance whines - when Clem wants to use WM well, he has to micro the heck out of it (while also maintaining the accuracy of baneling snipes among other multitasking), so if you want to deal with WMs, you need to do the same, instead of asking Blizzard to nerf WMs. Frankly Clem is the only terran that can use WMs so well because of his unparallelled multitasking and accuracy.

Do you go back and watch the whole weekly cup VODs after the fact? As far as I know very few people post VODs from the weekly cups other than the finals so usually I prioritise giving context on the form of the players over potentially spoiling a match I figure most of the audience won't be watching.

​@@TheSuperappelflapit's my understanding that youtube tends to punish engagement variability. so if one video gets fewer views than a creator's typical content, the entire channel can get punished by its future videos popping up on fewer and fewer viewers' recommended feeds. i know a few sc2 content creators have alluded to this, but it seems like only a handful of names get guaranteed engagement and earlier games in tournaments also tend to not perform as well. i personally think it may be worth it for pig to take the risk and post longer videos and videos that feature less well-known players, but i can understand it if he and many others feels like it's not worth the risk and would rather just point most folks hungry for more sc2 content to twitch

@@clee89 this video got 13K views and 95% of his income is from twitch and this is his second channel. the few people that watch these casts are probably already familiar with the scene and not just with the few players that consistently make finals.
