I mean why shouldn't we? The dev community has not delivered on it's promise. And especially the disrespect and controversy ranging from pedophilia and black mail is clearly abundant. If anything is positive about this, it's that they are finally getting off their asses and doing something rather then coming up with further excuses as to why they don't meet the due dates they set up for viewers. Counter part game developers are now coming out of the woodlock to compete with this company and I say all the power to them. As a result I feel this is causing the developer of this game to increase his speed of work in the fear that he will lose backers ect. And personally I hope he does, I really hope he does even after this game is completed. Path of Titans has honestly done far better then the isle. The graphics do not meet the same as the isle. But to what I have exp, the selection and updates alone prove they listen to their community input. Not to mention how well they're working towards improving the quality of their game. I think in another 2 yrs, the isle will be a thing of the past. But who knows, I have already heard people saying they're rather invest their money towards counter game producers giving the same exp.

I really doubt the isle will be dead in 2 years as there will still be a small and strong community that will be there to encourage the developer to work on the isle, as evolve the game officially died 6 years ago and there is still a strong community around it.

Im not talking about the isle being dead in 2 yrs, I am estimating how long it will take path of titans to meet the same graphics if not better to the isles. Less lagging, more options to meet the gaming requirements. Just with the way they're speeding up the production of giving it's community more animals to choose from proves that. I have no doubt the isle will always have it's boot lickers. Because they're like that gf who get the shit beat out them domestically and never has the courage to leave and ditch it. Now if the isle can deliver and actually change how it treats it's community. I think they might have something. But the ones still backing them, are the same kinda women who're afraid to leave the abusive partner because they're afraid to see if anything is out there. They're afraid if they abandon this game. There will be no future ones like it anywhere. And I again, this is a unique game, in fact this was my first ever game I bought after watching so many players. But I'm more of now. I don't expect much and am not setting myself up for another disappointment. So I am trying other competitive games, so as too watch either the rise or down fall of this company. A part of me says, I wish them goodluck. As I will check in on them from time to time due to content. But I am just tired of the undelivered promises they have gave the community. I think a lot of our money or even mine could be better placed to support path of titans who might actually surpass the isle even we continue to nurture it.@@personne2441

@@BlackRose85789 Path of Titans is not the isle, nor should it try to be that game. Personally I don't enjoy it nearly as much as the isle and I have a hard time seeing it surprise the game even at it's current state. Despite having worked on the game longer than EVRIMA, PoT feels lackluster. The only things I'd say it has over Evrima is it's larger roster and it's map. The gameplay is as boring as the flowers you are forced to pick.

Little correction: while hypsi is supposed to eventually get a climb it was not intended to get a climb from the beginning. The devs only ever considered hypsi getting a climb when a bug early on meant hypsi could jump up into trees. That bug happened to be very fun for hypsi, so they decided to turn it into a climber one day.

That is correct. Iguanodontids don't belong to hadrosaur, but are with those together within the branch of Hadrosauriformes (Ankylopollexia) and the closest to hadrosaur and are seen as their sistergroup.

the way i see it , seeing a rex full grown in game should tell you that player knows what tf their doing and shouldnt be messed with , and not just “oh its another rex” that should go for all apex dinos tbh

Agreed make apexs freekin hard to grow

I haven't watched yet so maybe you address this- but I think it's good because it lets community servers test out how best to implement the rex, without the devs catching flak for it. The community servers will be able to amend spawn caps etc. much quicker than the devs can. Once community servers perfect the rex implementation, the devs can take the ideas and implement them in official.

THANK YOU! I’m finally glad to see that someone else shares my opinion. Granted it’s only good if rex does come to officials in time but I do think it’s great to see rex start out in community servers only, just to see how it plays and polish it while the rest of the roster gets set up and it gets properly balanced. Rest of the video is also marvelous, great work😉

I already starve to death 3 out of 4 play throughs on Carno... can't imagine ever giving T-Rex a shot unless they DRAMATICALLY improve AI and make MUCH LARGER AI.

I can't wait for the weather update. I remember on the old Isle I was an acro hunting a parasaur in a thunderstorm. He was in a clearing and I wasn't far from him, I could only hear him bellowing, he had no idea I was there until a lightning strike nearly right on top of us, followed by a crack of thunder, I could see him jump when he saw me just 30yards in front of him. He died.

I think the easiest way to balance Rex without making anyone mad would be to just make it very hard to grow giving the juvies bad bleed bad bone break healing times and making it take a really long time to grow so not everyone can actually get it to adult idk tho exactly I have a fish brain

I totally understand what you mean by this but for example with stego and deino, you can counter this by just simply afk growing. Stego has really bad bleed res and is super slow as a baby but if u afk grow its np. Deino all u gotta worry about is water when afk growing

the per server que would be a fantastic idea I firmly agree, but The dev's would never take anyone else's opinion's. We will just have to wait and see what they have in store for us. Great Video!

I think a system where the overall population is looked at would be good. There should be X% Stegosaurs out of the total Y population, for example. If the population doesnt match the ideal, a known buff/nerf system should be in effect. So, if everyone wants to be a Rex, it won't be easy. And a new player might think it's a good idea to play as something that is under populated at the moment. Over time, that should balance the population around the target numbers. The exact numbers should be up to the server.

I saw someone suggest a territory system for Rex. Only 'X' number of rexes per territory. I saw another suggestion on implementing the nesting system for Rex and other apexes too.

Create a limit for all dinos, that is balanced between them all. Only being able to increase that number through nesting and birth.

To me a que syste. For apexes could work, but it would also have a lot issues. Some you said here like people being forced to wait before playing, but also it means that growing an apex would be hardcore turn up to 20 as if you died you wasted gameplay and wait time you spent getting into the game. Now if you could play as a different dino while still being in que, youll wont waste time waiting and might even occasionally decide to opt out of que intentionally if you were really enjoying yourself with a non apex. Itll give players a way to play the game and more control.

This will also help community servers I’ve noticed that most community servers are completely dead

The main reason I can see the Isle Devs deciding to give Rex a head start on community servers is to have a controlled environment to allow players to use Rex and thus test out its abilities for any bugs. Do I think Rex is no where near close to release nor should it be? Yes - I mean, to me it makes more sense to release creatures based on their tier, filling out the smaller niches and working your way up to Apexs at the eventual end. But, Rex coming to only community servers does give a good case to find and workout some bugs that might be shared amongst the other Apex creatures. Even if they do what they did with Hypo Rex back in Legacy and take Rex away from us once they received sufficient data, it's a pretty ingenious way to ensure Rex is working properly. I mean after all, including new creatures with new mechanics does tend to break the game and for a creature like Rex to have possibly game altering bugs - that wouldn't really give it a satisfying entry into the game.

Unofficial only apexes are definitely a problem simply because they're putting all that effort into a new creature just to restrict it to certain servers like they did with humans. The servers that keep them will be a complete mess with the largest non-apex being over 4 tons smaller than their smallest apex. The devs stated that they wish to "test" the power of the apexes in unofficials before fully releasing them but what exactly do they plan to test when the rest of the roster is so small and not at all representative of the challenges that the apexes would be facing. Time and resources that could and should be spent elsewhere, just pointless right now

Its the T.rex. Having a T.rex in your game will definitely attract a lot of player, both new and old. I get that its a balancing problem, but as long as the smaller ones can hide or can outrun it, i dont really see the issue. Counterplay doesnt have to be killing it, it certainly should be possible as a grp, but just being able to escape is decent enough at this point. I personally would love the idea of a mega carnivore roaming the edge of the forest, trying to rip me to shreds.

@@Christian-ml9sx You just precisely explained the issue, that they're doing it purely knowing that they get free attention from having trex without actually thinking about it. We've seen with Stego and Deino that the "it's okay because you can run away" argument falls apart quickly in an actual server setting. Not only does the wild power difference attract more people to those creatures so that their intimidation gets underwhelmed by how common they are, but you're creating a separate ecosystem of only apex creatures that the large majority of other creatures cant really interact with. They might kill eachother but thats it, you'll just be there to pick up the scraps and you either join them or avoid them, there's no inbetween (except for playing as busted apex killers like troodon and raptor). Instead of what they're doing, they should be gradually increasing the weight of their roster like they SAID they would, with Maia being accompanied by dinosaurs like Allo and Para and maybe Sucho

as soon as rex comes out, everything else will die bet, it like that in every dino game

i understand that the game have to be fair and those things but come on, who doesnt want to be walking like a galli and suddenly a rex roar in the forest at night. nah seriously i think there is always a way to make the rex fun to play without making it broken or moving away from the officials servers, but i think the rex has to be in the game with a balance mechanic, like to be carefull spining with the rex for example to not fall, or not running a long time after you sit, some mechanics to make the game more realistic and fair for others that arent killing machines XD

Coming from game art, Locational Dinosaur Material Effects could be scars and marks on the body and such, tho I am not 100% sure. It depends what they mean by Material Effects, is it from technical point of view or from gameplay.

I have no idea why but some people have called Community Servers "The Shadow Realm" as if half the playerbase doesn't play on them

Half of the playerbase? There are 12 official servers that are almost constantly full, and have queues. But I'll make it easier for you, name 10 community servers that are full, with queues, almost all the time. I can think of The Zoo, Islander, Petit Pieds (Poutines server), and maaaaaaaaybe Ibis. I'm genuinely curious.

@@roostergotcooked Well of course they're always full, there's *only* 12 of them. There's dozens of Unofficials each with some people in them, especially nowadays. Makes sense that the only full one's are popular communities.

So there are a few ones that are only partially full, mostly SA and AU servers. But your point is that half of the player base is spread across community servers that aren't full but still have some players?

Bro there should be a mechanic that if your dino is not a canibal species, if he eat the same species he gets a stomach sickness or something

The biggest way to counter players only wanting to play a single dinosaur is to release a BUNCH of apex’s at one time and add a feature where herbivores spawn closer to other of its same species.

honestly i think it would be fine as an option in officials in the future, atm there is no way a rex could sustain itself, once large enough as there are no bigger playables besides stego (deinos aint leaving the water in the presence of a rex lol), and even then i feel like stegos could beat the hell out of a rex if they re in a herd. Also rex has been stated to be unbelievably difficult to grow and also grows slower the bigger it gets and will most likely have a 8-10hr growth time.

I think the smaller carnivores and herbivores are going to be faster leaving things like the stego or the triceratops ( if added) to thug it out with out he Rex while other dinosaurs can out run the apexs

Maybe rex population could be controlled by giving rex players extra rex spawns for raising offspring to certain growth stages, I don't know if offspring relation is something being tracked so might not work. That way you encourage nesting, which in turn encourages you not to cannibalize at least rex's of opposite sex, and gives players an alternate way to spawn as new young rexes, easy prey for smaller carnivores to cull populations. Might just end in rextopia again with endless rex eggs, kinda depends on how powerful the earlier growing stages are.

They literally have an animal on par with the rex already, the Deinosuchus. If you make it slow but powerful its not going to be much of a threat to smaller animals.

ong there needs to be some kind of limit on apexes my biggest worry (and why i'm not even that excited for apexes) is that the isle will just turn back into legacy where 80% of the server is rex, spino or giga, which i dont blame people its fun to be the biggest and strongest carni around but god i hate it

Make rex unlockable instead of free. In other words, you need to full grow, say a carno, and have perfect diet before you can spawn a juvie rex. That will limit how many there are. Rex will be able to kill stego, so that should help solve the food problem.

In my opinion making apexes absurdly difficult to grow is the only good way to balance them out since I heavily disagree with the idea to put an artificial limit to the amount of players, and how are you supposed to do that anyway ? What if the Rex amount is full but than a Rex player who was offline logs in, will the server just not allow them to play ? I have some ideas on how they could make apexes harder to grow, like they could make it so that their special abilities are less efferctive or maybe even non existant until they are sub adults, like maybe they can make it so that Rex cannot break bones until it's a certain size or maybe it's other abilities that involve the Rex grabbing and overpowering stuff are more limited, so for example if an adult T.Rex can pin down something %80 of it's size the juveniles can only pin down stuff less than %40 it's size since they are not bulky like the adults, and this % would increase slowly as they grow. Also I am completely against apex cannibalism since it will only make them easier to grow and sustain like it did with Carno and still does with Deino and Cera.

Eh, no need to put number limits on the Rex. The Trike is coming with it, and the Deino is getting a buff for it as well. The ceratopsians are getting a combat style that lets them keep their horns facing their opponent. Plus, the juvy rexes will likely be qeaker to adults of the same weight class. Rex juveniles will be KoS for everyone.

i think this video is really well made, although i think the reason why the isle has made it to community servers only is because they are to lazy to balance rex

They just need to keep Rex out of the game until there are things that can keep it and other things at bay (ie, giga and spino aswell as more apex herbis)

I just worry that community servers will just be even more incentivized to paywall their servers with strong creatures. It's already an issue on legacy and I can see it being a bigger issue on Evrima. "Pay $100 for ONE rex spawn, buy 2 and get one free. But slots are limited so pay an extra $20 for early bird slots". Hopefully we'll see bigger servers and some kind of dev enforced rule to prevent p2w. And yes I know, "don't play on those servers then" I usually don't, but they are usually the most populated ones.

Pretty cool list of upcoming dinos even though I was hoping for Therizinosaurus and/or Deinocheirus. Unique looking big omnivores. Still, looking forward to trying the Dilophosaurus whenever it comes out.

They are wasting time with apexes right now, the meta isn’t ready, and if it’s only on community servers, official servers will eventually die. Just add Alberto, Allo, Magy, pachyrino, and bary. They would benefit the meta right now.

I agree mostly, however, to me, it’s obvious they’re adding Rex and Trike soon to get a better sense of how to scale both them and the mid tiers so that balance is achieved as they go along. That’s why they’ll be releasing those kits for Deino and Stego soon.

I think we should just trust the dev and see what the apex are about before criticizing after all the dino are secondary for the moment what's really important are the mechanic and when everything is right they can bombard us with dino
