Sehr schöne Restaurationseinblicke! Ich habe hier auch eine Modell 36 / A36 (auch ein Video dazu). Sind klasse Maschinen und liefern auf 19 cm/s einen bombastischen Sound, der sich nicht vorm heutigen zu verstecken braucht. Danke für das Video

The tubes that came with must be worth a small fortune now: Phillips, Amperex, Valvo, even Telefunken. Used to have one with faulty solenoid of the control buttons. When I investigated, a small flame erupted at the press of a button. I freaked out and sold it as is. It was in even nicer condition than this. That was in 1985.

Hallo Alexanderpeter Meine A36 habe ich dieses Jahr bei Ricardo ersteigert. Seriennummer 1711. Wie ein aufmerksamer Zuhörer richtig bemerkt hat stammt die Musik von einer Stereo Maschine, nämlich Revox A77. Der Sound meiner mono A36 ist aber auch sehr gut. Die 36iger Maschinen sind meine grossen Lieblinge. MfG Sagiweg

Hallo Sagiweg. Wunderschöne Revox A36. Welche Seriennummer hat diese? Ich habe auch eine genau gleiche mit der Seriennummer 147 und der Zustand ist sehr gut. Gefunden habe ich diese bei einer Entsorgungsstelle in Niederglatt 1997 und der Zustand war wie neu. Ausser Schmieren, Tonköpfe reinigen war nichts zu machen. Später hat es bei der Tastatur mal einen Elco gebrutzelt. Neuer eingelötet und das wars. Läuft tip-top. MfG Alexanderpeter1970

Hallo Roland, ich habe die Geräte geöffnet mit Staubsauger und Pinsel gründlich Gereinigt (Staubbeutel entsorgen) und die Spulenträger durch Teile von 36B oder 36C Geräten ersetzt. Die Asbestbeläge sollten nach der Reinigung der Maschine aber kein Problem sein, wenn die Tonbandmaschinen nur gelegentlich benutzt werden. Reparaturen (keine Garantie bald das nächste Problem ....) führe ich nur an meinen Geräten aus. MfG Sagiweg

May I ask you what kind of paint are you using to secure the screws at 5:33? On Czech internet I found that in Czechoslovakia this paint was acetone based. Other than that I know it was red and it was used on everything from tape recorders to radios. Otherwise all the search results are for threadlocking fluid. Thank you.

I just used old synthetic resin lacquer paint. No special screw locking varnish.

@@Sagiweg Thank you for your answer. I did some more research and also asked experienced electronics technicians on a forum. The old paint used for securing screws and mechanisms wasn't acetone based, but nitrocellulose based (because it dries quickly). However today it is possible to buy only nitro lacquer for wood. Therefore, the solution today is to use nail polish - it is nitrocellulose based and dries quickly and also it is very conveniently packed in a small bottle with an integrated brush. Also somebody said that they use a marking pen which is used to mark queen bees. This is an interesting suggestion, the man said he uses it regularly and that it works. I haven't tried it yet, but I will be testing it.

Dear sir, Thank you for your video. I am trying to service a Revox D36 and your video is very helpfull. May I ask you a question? I have to lubricate the wind motors but cannot understand how to remove the spool carriers on the top site. It has to be removed to access the screws that fix the engine itself. I can see there is a tiny hole at the site of the spool carriers but I am unable to see if there is a screw of some sort that fixes the spool carrier to the spindle. Can you give me a hint how to remove the spool carriers of the wind motors? Thank you very much!

thanks for the comment. with 2mm imbus key through the hole. the screw is often tight.

Hello Theo, definitely not sandpaper. This is polishing cloth, otherwise you will ruin the clay heads.

@@Sagiweg Thank you! I have noticed, that these machines use 10" instead of 10.5". I own a F36 Revox. would you know where can I find these 10" reels? they seem quite rare! cant find them anywhere

Hallo Gianfranco. Alle Revox 36 brauchen 10". Ich würde dir gerne 2 oder 4 Stück schicken, aber der lange Weg nach Kalifornien ...... die sind sehr zerbrechlich.

Hallo, ich habe gerade eine E36 Revox abgeholt. Welche Größe haben diese Rollen auf Ihrer Maschine? 10,5 Zoll passt nicht auf meine Maschine. Vielen Dank

Hallo, ich hoffe dass diee Nachricht jetzt noch weiter hilft: Es sind 25 cm-Spulen die hier passen, die häufigeren 26,5 cm passen nicht, die 25 sind recht selten.

Hello sir..I saw your restoration..I saw how well you know about it I ask you for help..I have a revox g36 ... if it has a lot of tape on one of the rollers in that part if I run it goes very slowly. .what should I check? I only mean fast scrolling ..thanks

+I967 Interessante Frage. Poliertuch verwendet man in der Metallindustrie im Werkzeugbau zum polieren von Stahl.
Bräuchte einen techniker für mein analoges studio ;) ...bist eingestellt, jazz spiel ich dir live damit der flow auch gegeben ist ;) und caffee! ...wünschte das wäre der fall! Selten so gute arbeit gesehen!

@@Sagiweg gerne, mehr als wohl verdient! Ich hab wirklich selten so gute arbeit gesehn, die maschienen sind ja technisch und optisch komplett revidiert. War sehr beeindruckt was überhaubt alles möglich ist! :D Und auch wie zart und vorsichtig gearbeitet wird, unglaublich sauber!!!

Nein hab ich nicht. Die Andruckrolle hab ich auf der Drehmaschine (Drehbank) sogar rundgeschliffen.
Welche Abstufung mit Schleifpapier zum Schleifen der Köpfe? Es ist sicher?

Hello Theo, definitely not sandpaper. This is polishing cloth, otherwise you will ruin the clay heads.

Ich empfehle statt Waschbenzin 99% Isopropanol zu nehmen. Hinterlässt weniger Rückstände.
