In a systematic racial structure like the US the only way to change that narrative is to change the way we think. Our oppressors are racist. Great Conversation! During childhood, the Nation had a program called Young people on the rise in DC area and I joined them. The nation helped throughout adolescent and teen years. They helped me become confident and believe in myself and believe in the black community.

This was an INCREDIBLE interview! I mean the value, the intelligence, the transparency and no B.S. ...just wow. I appreciate y'all brothers frfr. This was another kick in the ass for me. Everything Ian mentioned: the business, I checked it off, yes I have it but I need to be smarter about its operations and my exit plan. The stocks, crypto and life insurance: yes I got it, but I need more. And now I gotta work on establishing the royalty/subscription model and real estate but man...this interview got me sooooo freaking hype. Loved it ❤. The best way to spend 2 hours on a Sunday morning. I just love us, creating our own narratives and supporting and uplifting one another. We got this for real.

I think that this was an amazing conversation; however, I will say that although you all are right about artists in terms of having a business first, it is easier to comment on when on the outside looking in than as an actual artist. Yes, artists should have a business foundation first. In fact, artists themselves should recognize that they are a business. This is correct. Unfortunately, though, artists just want to create and often artists are not aware of how the business works. Usually, they understand how it works after being screwed. Calling artist "lazy" is an insult especially when you are not an artist yourself. This is a conversation that must be had with artists present so that you understand truly the history of the artist and why the cycle of being a "starving artist" occurs. Respectfully.
