Revlon One-Step Curls!

New Revlon One-Step Curling Iron Blowout Curls
Yes, another one-step hair tool that dries and styles hair at the same time. This is a brand new hair tool from Revlon, they added to their already very popular One-Step Styler hair tool line. Did I say that it was an award winner? Revlon One-Step Blowout Curls is a kit with a 1.25 inch clip curling iron with 360 degrees vented barrel and root comb attachment to dry roots before styling with the perforated curling iron barrel. Both attachments are interchangeable with the new Revlon 2.0 One-Step base with four heat settings. In my personal opinion, I think the Revlon 2.0 is better than the original one-step styler due to a smaller handle, and an extra heat setting.
I’ve been testing the Revlon One-Step Blowout Curls for a bit now, and am pretty happy with the results. Revlon suggests drying hair at the roots first with the concentrator, but I find it works best on lightly misted hair. With this method, my curls and style still look amazing at the end of the day. It does work on dry hair too, but you have to hold hair on the barrel much longer and the curls don’t last as long. I’d say it’s pretty easy to use if you are an experienced curling iron user, but it’s not for the curling iron newbie.
As far as the hair tool itself goes, it features two attachments (clip barrel and root concentrator) that are interchangeable with the One-Step 2.0. It has four heat settings, and the medium heat has almost the same airflow as the high setting without the extreme heat. The clip isn’t very tight so it doesn’t pull or tug on hair, however, this is also a con. If you don’t use a thick enough section of hair, hair can slip out of the clip pretty easily. My hair isn’t as full at the bottom, so I struggled with this a good bit.
Even the medium heat setting is still pretty hot. You have to keep hair on the barrel for more than 30 seconds plus another 10-15 seconds on the cool shot to get the best curl results. Unlike a traditional curling iron, I would suggest holding Revlon One Step curls barrel further from the scalp due to hot air flow. Another complaint I have is the control placement. They are in an uncomfortable place and the dial is frustrating to use. And, maybe Revlon has this in the works, but One Step tool needs more attachments for different hair types and lengths. It’s not exactly versatile or a ‘one-size-fits-all’ hair device. Lastly, it’d be nice if Revlon sold the attachments separately from the base, especially since they are interchangeable with the 2.0 Revlon One Step Styler. What I mean is the brush head is interchangeable with this new kit featuring the curling iron barrel and root attachment.

I’m a hairstylist, if she used this on damp hair the clamp would be even more of a hassle! The smaller the section the tighter the curl but w/this one smaller sections easily slipped out of the clamp, forcing her to use large sections. That’s too restrictive for most users having to only use large sections. The Shark & Dyson sucks the hair TO the tool, no clamp needed nor leaving a clamp ‘line’.

One con that is a concern of mine is that if a young child was using it, they could possibly get burned. I think Revlon really needs to address this so they won’t be in a lawsuit. A Pro for this is that it would be great for travel!! Not to many things to pack and the hair still looks great!!! I really like your reviews because they are honest and true. Unfortunately I have pretty short hair so this would not be a product for me!! I find something like this no different than just using a curling iron. The heat is right up against your hair strands and that's what causes damage. Also, Not sure about anyone else but curling my hair is usually a "treat", not something I do daily. I do enough damage straightening my part Italian and part Ethiopian curly hair with a round brush w/ boar bristles. Then running it through a flat iron QUICK in certain stubborn spots to smooth it out. Then, I don't wash it for 4+ days, always taking my hair as long as I can go with dry shampoo at the roots. Every night I put a little light healing oil at the ends and sleep in a silk night cap - hands down better than sleeping on "just" my silk pillowcase.

I bought the original Revlon one. I hated it and gave it away. It was to heavy, to hot, and pulled a lot of hair out.🥹

I’m 46 and I’ve never colored my hair. I also don’t own a blow dryer. I just cut it from the end of my bum, too the top of my bra strap. I’m thinking of getting the original one , with the brush. Idk 🤷‍♀️, thank you for showing us this.
