To get the silk effect she’d have to crank up the heat l but that will damage her curls which is bread and butter of this channel.
I've not seen one video of this that looks good but they still rave about it.

@@aamanpour3630 GIRL! The revlon roundbrush damaged my curls like no other!! It didn’t look fried when I left it straight but leaving it natural??? my curls are soooo loose now with the ends being straight - I had to cut my hair the other day. 😭 AND I’ve only used the roundbrush no more than like 10-15 times. I used to straighten my hair in high school damn near every day (waited for my hair to air dry before straightening - did not use a hair dryer or anything but still was using a flat iron on high heat every single day for years) and even years of that didn’t damage my curls the way the roundbrush did after just a few uses :/

@@cocoandpika Yup. Sorry to hear that 🙁. I used to wait for my hair to dry and then flat iron it and it was way longer than it is now that I started using these brushes :(. I find these brushes more convenient ( I like the TIGI one) but idk... they're causing damage I didn't use to have.
I’m glad I watched. I was thinking of buying it, but this would take all day on my hair!
I’m sorry but your hair looked damaged afterwards. It wasn’t smooth or anything. I am a natural course, curly redhead. I wear mine curly or straight. If my hair looked like that after straightening my natural curls with that, I would never use it again. That is just MY opinion. I am sure everyone will share theirs after seeing my post. LOL

This product gives a blow dried result. It’s not meant to perform like a flat iron nor does it get hot enough to give the results of one. It’s a lower heat styling option meant to cut down on heat damage. This being said, I don’t like the results either. I’ve yet to see someone use this and get nice results.

I agree but also that is how Mel likes it bc textured hair never comes out super straight without doing extra work. It all depends on the person's preference so this is more for ppl who want their hair to be straight but not flat straight and as least damage as possible.

She has textured hair plus she probably does a curly cut. A curly cut when straightening can look damaged because the hair is cut curly rather than straight. Her hair isn’t damaged. I know because I did a curly cut and when I straightened it I cringed. I like to where my hair straight and curly, I will never get a curly cut again because of the way it looks when straightened. Bit that’s just my preference.

@@kaitlyncook7771 All I said is that us curly girls need to follow up with something else if we want the style to last and not get frizzy. These tools are rarely made for us, but I can definitely see someone with straight or wavy hair using it. I should have specified because not all curls are the same and if the hair is thinner it will hold better. Mine won’t so I won’t be getting this. ☺️

@@kaitlyncook7771her hair is curly, silky. She commonly does tutorials on her sister’s hair which is more like a wavy that’s forced into a curl by the way they style it. There’s levels to this and this is why her fans want more diversity in how she tests her products because saying it works on her sister doesn’t tell us anything and saying it works on her is saying it could work for curlies if your hair is a certain fabric/texture.

@@MiVidaBellisima her sisters hair is quite dense and thick though. Its very wavy if you're gonna call it wavy. Its not at all "forced" to curl the way you see people who have a slight texture in their hair try to style it curly using a bunch of product. Nothing wrong with either but her sisters hair isn't "tame" or straight by any stretch of the imagination.

It would not work on my hair. Her hair is straighter but not smooth. I definitely wouldn’t waste my money. My hair is curly and I live in a humid climate. I prefer large round brush and blow dryer or blow dry brush. Finish with a flat iron. And two hours late in the Florida heat and it’s lumpy again. I’m a stylist and I have the finest tools and products available but I won’t torture my hair to be straight. It doesn’t like it!
Okay but that literally looks terrible. I have yet to see somebody style with this thing successfully.

Nothing beats a good old round brush and hair dryer blowout and then finishing with a flat iron. Still the most effective in my opinion! If I’m not mistaken, she is partnered with Dyson and has featured some of its products on her channel here. I think that if the point is to encourage us to purchase this hair dryer though, demonstrating it on another person (whose hair looks amazing straight) may have been more conducive to this goal.

@@PrinceDuCiel7 I've seen a few vids, mostly comparing it to the revair (it boggles my mind that people can afford TWO $500 blowdryers 😵💫) and it doesn't seem to be able to get the hair much straighter, but given that the airstrait has that boost mode and that it wasn't designed exclusively with curly hair in mind I feel like we're going to be seeing some "airstrait gave me heat damage" vids in the future . . .
Of course there is heat damage. Maybe it's less damage than a flatiron but there is heat damage

Honestly this doesn't look good. It looks like you just blow dried your hair with a comb attachment or something. In my opinion a flat iron will still be needed afterwards. I wouldn't use this, my hair is way too curly for this to replace any other tools I have.

Love that I got to see the hair straight to see the cut 😍 CURLS ARE THE GiRLS 🙏🏼😍👏👏😍👏🙏🏼🙏🏼
News flash - not all curlies want a flat ironed look all the time! A lot of us (myself included), like a blowdry for the extra volume it gives which can make certain styles look better than with flatter hair. As for the dryer itself, I can get a similar result with mine which is way cheaper.
High heat? In their ad their point was is that you get straight hair without high heat 😂

People in these comments really don’t understand textured hair. It’s never gonna like like smooth, straight hair because it’s literally completely different on a cuticle level?? This is really cool that they’re coming out with this possibility for us! And her hair is obviously not cut for a straight style. But every little frizz is not “damaged hair”, I am so tired of this.

Oh mai god no. Never do this again
I was looking to replace my Revlon with an Airstrait for my curly hair but holy frizz did the end result in this video convince me not to.🤯
The only curlies who had success with this were Julia Caban and Julissa Guillen. Julia's results were the most impressive for a curly. Julissa's hair looks best with a bend in it so... I think finer/frizzier hair like Julia's might fair better with the machine. The girl in this vid has dense coarse curls which look a heck of a lot better curly.
I would really love for you to cut my hair. It’s been such a busy down here in Southwest Florida. Please help!!!
Wow 😃
What happened to the comb chase method
How long does it last
Looks like a lot of work and money spent just to get some poofy ass hair. I love your curly hair though. So pretty. 😩
Looks much healthier and prettier curly!
Not a good advertisement for this product. I have curly hair and if I straighten my hair I want it to look smooth and shiny.
Did your curls come back, safe and sound after using this?

Need to apply heat protection and let it dry with out the hair dryer
I didn’t like the results, tbh

Dangggg these comments are brutal
It doesn’t hurt your hair because it doesn’t leave it straight 😂
Yea, no. Shark flopped with that one. I’ll stick to my Revlon brush to dry my hair and a low temp ceramic straightener to style. Take 30 mins tops. Doesn’t look crusty afterwards.
isn’t a blow out, the same concept?
280 😢
Looks totally fried after…that is not smooth
It’s okay, but I’m sure it’s way more expensive than my T3 flat iron and that gets the job done on low medium and high heat. Easy peasy saved $350
I see lacefront wigs flatter than this. For 450$ you can pop a bone straight wig on
Didn’t make it speak enough for me. Merp
There is so much hate omg it’s just her haircut it looks different on straight hair
I’ll stick with my Remington
So it isnt even fast it still takes 2 hours
Just use a regular straightener it would look better 😂
It doesn’t look totally straight afterwards
That looks absolutely terrible LOL why even try to pretend you like it 😂
Omg 😳 shut up and take my money!
I don'like ,not work for my hair ...
Nope. Doesn't matter how much influencers pedal it. It is just a straightener not worth the price. The result was like any 25 euro straightener
Looks like a waste of money again lol
I think her hair is already damaged due to some processes. Even she uses a flat iron, it would look like this. She should get a haircut for the damaged split ends.
