Thanks for a million views! During college I was getting cabin fever and purchased both of these Jeeps. My buddy and I got the red Jeep engine running on Halloween night. The body was made of plywood. A few years, later I saw the brown Jeep back up for sale with a blown engine. This video was filmed in about 2 days during a free weekend.

A few years back, I had a '53 CJ3A that had been somewhat restored by a previous owner. It was an on/off-road play toy. After a few years a finally stopped licensing it and made it a 100% dirt buggy. I had my fun with it and turned a profit when I sold it. These things do nothing but climb in value.

When you patch the cracked frame... cut the patch in the form of a diamond; stronger as stress points better/ more evenly distributed when flexing. Or it will crack. Cut the diamond patch larger, heat it and roll it over the top and bottom too. The frame is a like a beam; the strength is always in the top and bottom and not the middle multiplier.

Not a MB or a GPW that is a cj, if It was military there would have been slots on the tub for the shovel and axe below the door, the grill is also different

No tailgate makes me think its an MB but no depressions for the shovel and axe leave me confused - unless (unlikely) someone changed out the body for an aftermarket tub at some point. I have a 46 CJ2A. The early ones (like mine) have the indentations on the driver's side but also have a tailgate. Not sure what is going on here. Well-spotted Dylan Detlor.

How are some people so lucky to find awesome cars SUVs and or trucks for dirt cheap or free???? I would die if I found a deal like that and would never sell a great part of history like that jeep. It might even have one hell of a story behind it.
hi,I have just body Jeep Willys 1958,and I want to put some engine to be 4x4, if someone know guys ,wich engine and some stuff I can use for my willys to make ready for drive?
Too cool man!
What is the best oil to use in the engine?
I’m surprised you didn’t clean and paint the hood, fenders and body.
That was awesome!
I thought You just killed it!
What was wrong with the frame in the Jeep you took the engine out of that you didn't just put the body on that one?
U do understand that it was not a CJ model however it was a MB model, the CJ models had tail gates as to where the MB models did not CJ being civilian models and MB being military models

This was a CJ2A with a welded tail gate area. An MB has a full floating rear axle, tool slots, machine gun mount on the frame, glove box, etc.

Well done
jeez bud, not too bad, not to bad at all
6:50 “go ahead and tighten this really well”.... *loosens bolt*
i would duct tape the seats, that way they'd be more comfortable. you need a Jerry Can.
You said the Jeep it's in good shape ...lol
I need some original 2a bumper, rims, driver and passenger seat frames do you have some you'd sell me?
I need some help figuring out why my little 2a has no spark. I replaced plugs and coil. It cranks with a new starter and battery. Lmk if you have any tips on where to start.

Hi Muddoxracing i need some more information reagrding Willys
perfect
I honestly think I would build two if I'm a trucker and give one to my carebear
Does the body number match the frame? If so you got yourself a Willys MB or Ford GPW on your hands. Notice how the Jeep does not have a tailgate and has a glove box? Change the grill back to what it was and make it look like a ww2 army jeep again!

This was a CJ2A with an engine from a 1939 Willys sedan. Someone modified the rear body, and hacked in the glovebox.

You ain't seen a dead Willy's jeep until you see the one in Marion, Iowa near highway 151 & 46th street.
Would you mind sharing some better pictures of the simple wiring system? I have a CJ2A that I’m wanting to get running again.

Lots of places to get parts. There were lots of them made so mechanical parts are readily available. Some models you can get complete body tubs, fenders, tailgates etc.

This site has been a life saver in finding certain Willy's parts and selling/barter for stuff. Traded a NOS under seat gas tank and sending unit for a metal hard top/military first aid kit and the fire extinguisher. And buddy came to me www.oldwillysforum.com/forum/
Is a beautiful
Holy right ear.
how much did you end up selling it for?

I think $1,900 it wasn't truly worth the effort. I've made more money off this video than the Jeep!
Definitely not a California Jeep! What a rust bucket. Would be sold for spare parts here...
