Sadly not much of the medieval building survives apart from some of the west front. Alot was rebuilt and restored in the Victorian period. I did like my visit to the Abbey a few years back to see the royal monuments. As and where the remains are is another story.Has strong connections as you rightfully said to the Stewards and the Fitzalans who were the Stewards. IIn the 16th century The Howard family (Dukes of Norfolk) married into the Fitzalan family. The present Duke of Norfolk is a Fiztalan Howard and has the prestigious title of Earl Marshal. Yeah, only about half of what we have of the Abbey dates to the Medieval Period. A lot of it is modern. A lot of people don't know that. I still love the history of the place. It is a shame so much of the monastery won't be found, because of the urban sprawl of Paisley. I'm glad that you enjoyed the video.

There was an American Minister who worked there in the early eighties.
