Revisiting LA Noire: The Best Game Rockstar Never Actually Made....
Ойындар
LA Noire is one of my favourite games by Rockstar that isn't Bully, so in this video I revisit this underappreciated gem.

One of my all-time favorite titles. Been dying for a sequel. If you want to see a more modern inspiration for the game, check out the movie "L.A. Confidential" (1997). It's based on a book of the same name from a series of novels called the L.A. quartet. Same setting, same era, similar protagonists, similar narration style, an irish police captain, corrupt cops - huge inspiration for the writers of the game.
I love this game so much

Insane that i started my very first play through of this game last night and i see this video the very next day
Kind of weird I’ve been replaying this over the last few weeks.
Personally, I think this game would have been better if it ditched the shootout gameplay and was made in the vein of point-and-click titles, not too dissimilar from Telltale's bread and butter. However, that still wouldn't fix the most egregious error the devs made by writing Detective Phelps as such a by-the-books cop. The affair would have been in-character if they made him break the rules whenever he really wanted to get to the bottom of the case. I also think there should have been two endings: the normal ending where the bad guys get away with it, and a 100% ending where the bad guys pay for their crimes.
LA noire still holds

Still playing it on my Xbox
Damn cereal killers.
Great review. Great game. I'm sad to say I was one of the people who dismissed this game originally, but found appreciation in it later. It's such an underrated gem. The one thing you didn't mention is the acting. The cast of this game is star studded. A part of why it's so good is the actors have experience in film noir. Aaron Staton was known for Mad Men before LA Noire. All the acting is top notch. The facial animations sometimes go over the top, but for the most part the acting is some of the best in a Rockstar title. Maybe only overshadowed by Red Dead Redemption 2
It's kinda weird how I literally just started playing this game again yesterday, haven't picked it up in years! I'm currently doing the homicide missions Coincidence? I think not! 😂
I played it on ps3 about 30% Then I bought it on ps4 on its release believe it or not Till this day I haven't even touched it I have plans will start playing it soon also at the time I didn't speak or understand English Can't wait to reply it It's going to be a different experience I know
keep it up
l.a. noire my favorite game these days ad vice on top
"They were working on the tires That's all that was took" And then *that* face
dude ik this is out of the topic, but has no one noticed how amazing and well tracked the facial capture is? like their faces move extremely realistically

dude are you stupid this is literally one of the biggest most praised features of the game?

I'm surprised this game never got any sequels. It remained as a one-time thing. But if they were to make a sequel, then they definitely need to expand on the open world by a lot. They went through all this trouble to recreate LA in 40's, and you can't do anything in it. That's kinda sad.

That's the problem with a detective/law enforcement role in an open world setting a la GTA. What else can you do besides... doing your job.

Dead game compared to what bully 2 could of been I detect
The fact this game never got a sequel or a remake over the last few years is very upsetting. Amazing game to go back and replay after a few years when you forget the cases lol. Probably the only really good detective game ever made and had such a nice atmosphere and setting while also being new. Triple A devs and publishers don’t usually like putting massive money on untested genres or even genres that have failed to be profitable like detective games.
I’m glad Rockstar got it from Sony, it would’ve absolutely flopped under them
Happy anniversary la noire

It's funny because I actually didn't realise today marks LA Noire's 13th anniversary. It was a pure coincidence haha
