It still interests me that this song is in Act 1, like BEFORE Hyde goes berserk and stabs some people. A really good foreshadowing that Jekyll basically dug himself into a hole by obsessing over his work. Only the people who care about him dont have the opportunity to leave With that aside, I LOVE that you set the song after Jekyll committed a murder and is acting like he does in the book, though with the twist that he literally is hiding the body (holy shit, that's dark) I also love your interpretation of Utterson SM in this animatic :"D

Yes! The scene when Utterson stays behind after the party seemed the best time to line things up with the book. Glad you enjoyed!

The expressions and body language are SO on point! The Hyde shadow is wonderful, John rushing to Henry and kneeling before him made me very emotional, and the way Lisa leans into her father's side is very sweet!

what??? this is actually so fantastic- i adore all of the dramatic shots and angles and how you clearly had like this very strong vision of what this should look like (or at least you played it of like you did lol). the character designs are also really great and unique from each other-really great shapes, that’s something i’m trying to work on with my own are haha (another thing: i really like the shot of hyde after he just murdered that guy, like he’s stunned, sitting there, shocked at his own actions. i feel like the book and a lot of interpretations have hyde just like scurry off from the scene, but i think it’s really cool idea that he has this moment where he like snaps out if it and sort of gets back in his ‘jekyll mindset’ for a minute)

i keep rewatching this and the og version, amazing job! i feel like expressions and intent are a lot more clear here! amazing job! esp the flashback scenes, theyre a lot easier to understand and therefore more endearing! i have to say i do like the way the dad throws his head back in the og one, just bc it's dramatic and v exasperated, it made me laugh. your ability to convey emotions and movement get better with every animatic! great job as always. also youve made me obsessed with this song T-T

THIS IS SO GORGEOUS. THIS IS S O GORGEOUS. I've been obsessed with this musical since I was twelve(ish), and still revisit it fairly regularly, and I can safely say this is one of the best animatics I've seen, if not THE best. Your blocking is absolutely amazing, as is your character design, and you capture the atmosphere of the soundtrack so beautifully well-- thank you for making my evening!! 😭🥺💕

I cant explain properly why but the transition at 0:35 hits SO well. The beat of the music and the rough camera shift makes it look so good Also i keep rewinding 3:33 AHHH so PRETTY ! The door shot is so satisfying 🗣️ AND 3:23 ??? THE DRAMA. THE COMPOSITION. It's framed so nicely and has such a satisfying flow (with the blood and layout) it's just dripping with the Golden Ratio yummyummy
