Lol to people who say well he's holding, yes because he's out there to try and help the receivers. They're going to get held in the games and people are going to have hands all over them, so this is helping them. This is to help them with breaking man coverage, trust me Darrelle can lock down pretty much anybody.

Exactly just like how in other sports like boxing they punch with weights baseball they practice with a weight on their bat during training so when they go to hit it’s easier it’s exactly the same thing they’re doing here you always practice with a handicap or something harder so when you play the actual game it’s going to feel easier

The most important thing you can learn from Revis and all great corners, is their patience and deliberate footwork. His feet don't move anywhere they don't have to. He understands when he's in redone, his leverage, the route options, and every technique he needs. That is also why Sherman is on his level because they do the same stuff. Patience, they strike with their hands, they know their leverage and where their help is, and every move is deliberate. Great stuff.

He is so patient with his hands and footwork, every time it seems like he is waiting too long and then he just bats the ball away at the very last second.

thank you!!! Deon was just pure speed and God given talent. Darrelle is all technique if you really look at his footwork. He also has speed to keep up and the patience to wait for the receiver to telegraph the catch. you dont find that in that position.

Revis put the WR in a position where their timing is off, so incomplete passes are made. Some of the QBs sucked too lol. But this is old tape at practice in one on one drills. Holds are bound to happen when you are the only target and the QB can hold the ball in his hands forever. 9 times out of 10, in a lot of those plays, the ball wouldn't even go Revis' way lol.

his smarts not to bight on these double moves. I think in his head based of body language, down and distance, and wr stance, he can cut the route tree the wr could run in about half. It ruleing out routes makes it easier to jump others or anticipate a double move or cut

Exactly they want their recievers to be able to deal with any kind of pressure like how in baseball they use weighted bats so when they play the bats lighter to swing same here make you deal with holding in training camp so when the season starts it’s ideally supposed to be easier to catch without someone holding

Revis strives in 2 Man Under situations. If he really gets put on a island in a cover 1 or 0 defense against bigger WR, he'll get beat like any other CB would in the NFL 8 times out of 10. CBs easiest job is playing man under when they are chasing the WR from behind and let the safety cover the top of the WR to force a small window for the QB to throw to, if it's an incomplete pass, CB looks good, if the ball is forced and under thrown, CB looks good. It goes either way.
