Thank you for doing us a review Zack, I'll just add a few points for the viewers, these will be similar points when I (well, if I) do a review later. 1. The sizing is messed up, I had to go 1 FULL SIZE up in EU for mine, I normally wear 38, and the 39 was the exact same size as my Romaleo 2s and Anta 2s. As far as I am aware, they are working on a fix for the next batch. 2. When I first wore the shoes, it felt like a weird breed... like Anta 1 and Reebok Legacy got drunk, and had a baby, I felt the heel was a little higher than my Romaleo 2s, but other parts were fine. I also found the top of the shoe where is bends (the bit above the toe box) took a bit of time to break in. I have told the company, and they are also working on a fix. 3. From observation, everyone who switched from Romaleo 4s said they preferred our shoes, and everyone who switched from Reebooks said they preferred our shoes. The only shoes I would they are better, is the Romaleos 2s, the Anta 1 has similar performance IMO, I never really liked the Anta 2 because it never "broken in" for me. 4. It's about the fashion, not about the shoes.

So I wear golden Lu‘s lifter since a month. I switched from Anta 2 and I had Anta 1 before. I would say Anta 2 are more stable and have a bit more medial support, But! Anta 2 inner material is unfortunately not so durable, similar to Rom 4 I guess (after 6 month I already had some holes in heels area🥲 but it could be cause of my anatomy idk. Lu‘s lifter are similar to Anta 1, they are stable enough, comfortable even with hobbit feet like mine and they seem to be very durable👍🏻

Hey Zack, love your work. Just in regards to the effect of the heel height. They don't allow for increased dorsiflexion at the ankles, but instead place the ankle in increased plantarflexion, allowing the athlete to achieve greater knee flexion ROM. They actually decrease the DF required by the athlete to achieve the bottom position.

I have Antas and I wouldn't guide myself ussing the US size but the EU is more accurate. Eventhough they can feel very tight and rigid at the start they adjust perfectly over time and give you so much stability, I totally love them.

After all these years they finally arrived 😅

Your initial excitement seeing them for the first time is awesome lol

damn those are cool looking spanks!!! I'm using Velaasa's right now and like them a lot - these sound pretty similar i.e. high heel, snug fit, solid stable construction. Thanks for the review - they sound like they might be a good option for me.

Re: Zack's dialogue at the end. I just got Adipower 2s which aren't particularly good weightlifting shoes....But damn are they a game changer considering I got them for 40 dollars. Even a "bad" lifting shoe is a necessity.

I'm rocking Adipower 3s, also not the best reviews, work fine for me :D Were the only ones i could find in my country for a decent price.

I have a pair and I love these! I made the bold move of wearing them for the first time at my most recent competition and for me atleast they felt good straight away, I don’t know if anyone’s had Reebok legacy’s but they feel very similar to those

If I can squat jerk in these while mogging the local YMCA I will 100% buy these. Also, I kinda get a Thanos vibe. It’s like the infinity gauntlet but on your feet.

My bet about the variable heel lift is that longer foot length will require more heel lift to get the same joint angles in the bottom position.

Makes sense that it doesn’t include bench since I’m pretty sure Lu has stated he doesn’t do bench press

yeah asia sizes can be skewed especially in CN or JP so maybe replace them and go up a size or two

At 9:35 - 9:45 I would only add that heel height really DOES matter. Going from 3/4" to 1" (25-26 mil) effective height was a major change, allowed much more upright stance in bottom of snatch. 1-1/4" height was too tall -- banging shins and being WAY over the bar on first pull.

Bought Adidas power perfect 3 because the toebox looked wider and they were a bit cheaper. Perfect fit couldnt be happier. (I wear barefoot normally and have always hated snug shoes growing up, so much that i always picked 4-5 sizes bigger than my actual foot size when i was a kid and i went looking like a clown.). Saw multiple competitors on the EU 2022 championship wear this model, among them Georgi chkheidze and a couple other georgian lifters and some others. Despite being a cheaper option to the other adidas.

Can anyone help, I am looking for weightlifting shoes in size 15/16. Where can I get them?

Most chinese shoes are 0.5 Euro size off. As for shirts, for example I'm a 3 XL American size, but if you wanna buy shirts from China, my size is likely to be 5 XL or 6 XL. I bought a Hong Gang weightlifting shoe, my normal feet size is 42 Euro size, bought a 42.5 Euro size and they fit perfectly.

I have to disagree slightly. The big thing for me when choosing a shoe is if the shoe is flat from the ball of the foot to the heel. I hated on the Nike 3’s how I couldn’t get my whole foot flat and so many shoe makers don’t allow you to push your toes and heels in the ground at the same time and it causes a lot of shifting in the pull. A snug shoe is really important for split jerk because it gives more stability in the front foot. I wear anta because they’re the most stable shoe I could find with a wife base and a flat sole unlike the Reebok which is the closest but has such a huge lift from the mid point of the shoe to the toes

Hey Zack I'm half a year late but if you ordered China size 48 that's a 13 in US not a 14. You probably just got a very snug 13 and should have ordered 13.5 or 49 China size.

Just a heads up: Since the size update (October 2023) with half sizes the shoes run exactly like the Romaleos 4. So same EU/US/CHN sizes. Maybe that helps before ordering 👍🏻

@@zoegaron9627 can only 100% speak for my experiences in men sizes🙏🏻Logically it wouldn’t fit as you need to convert the women sizes in male and from there you could order. In your case female size 7 is a male 5.5 wich you could order. Again; no guarantee on that but it just makes sense to me😅

European size 47 is China size 48 which is US size 13. If he ordered China size 49 would have probably been perfect for him

While Zack is corrent in shoes generally don't matter, I would still advise AGAINST the NoBull Lifters. I currently have a pair of Anta 2, Nike Rom 4, Reebok Legacy Lifter 2 (recently sold), and NoBull Lifters, and there isn't much difference between the first 3, but man, is there a difference with the NoBull Lifters. They aren't overly secure in the ankle, they aren't nearly as solid in the heal (as they use compressed rubber) and the durability is nonexistent (had to do a warranty claim within 6 months). Plus, they are ridiculous in price - $299 USD is outrageous for what you get. So, Zack is correct that MOST WL shoes are the same; find one pair that you like and stick with it. However, caveat is don't buy the NoBull Lifters.

@@sandrost4243 sorry for delay in response. The largest difference is the Anta 2s don’t have the heal slip like the Rom 4s. I find the Anta 2s have a bit more cushioning inside. It’s hard to tell if I wore my grip off the Rom 4, but I noticed the Anta 2s are super grippy. The Anta 2s are also more chunky/heavy, but I like that.

Have you taken off the insoles? I swear the whole shoe along with the toebox feels a lot roomier withot the thick ass insole that comes with the shoes. Just replace them with a basic sport shoe insole. I replaced mine with the ones from my old adipowers and they were already a lot better. Completely without insole feels fine too.

Two things...1...they are selling these on Amazon for $199. 2...there is a someone selling Rom 2 ripoffs on ebay they claim they are being made in the same factory as the Anta shoes.

I've been doing olympic weightlifting for 2-3 months now but barefoot. That's only because I'm cheap though. Would it legitimately help me or just assist with getting the most out of your mobility as you said?

If you remove the outer layer of the shoe, you would actually find it stuffed full of gummy bears. That explains the cushioning and how snug it is.

i disagree not all weightlifting shoes are the same, i had adidas ones for 2years almost 3 years and i recently switch to romaleos 4 and its night and day difference i feel muchhh more stable and much better overall to express my strenght in the romaleos. Saying its all the same is kinda nonsense when they are all created in a different fashion.

Zack.. C'mon... You really can't tell the difference between a shoe that is super rigid up front like an anta or rom and one that flexes like nothing such as a leistung? Seriously?

I got a pair of TYRs before they became ultra cool and trendy. Before that I had a pair of Nikes that I don't even remember what they are. I tried on a pair of Romaleo 4s and I felt like I was immovable compared to wearing the TYRs. The TYRs have an awesome toe box and they're very very comfortable. I just don't think they're as stable. If I bought the Lu Xiaojun shoes I'd likely paint over the name on the straps. Because you're gonna get made fun of at the gym lmao
