If you use 2 batteries for your 12v it will unbalance your battery pack by drawing down on those 2 batteries. Your charger does not recognize voltage in individual batteries but as a whole. Having 2 batteries with different voltage will make your battery pack fail a lot sooner. I suggest running a 48v to 12v converter. On the converters you definitely get what you pay for.

Very informative, thanks a lot. Did you use a 2 gauge or 4 gauge battery cables to connect the series? Thanks again

Can you explain where that small gauge red wire running from the battery on the passenger side is running to? Also where the big gauge wire coming off the stud of the solenoid towards the rear of the cart is connected to? Almost have mine completely wired up but second guessing some things! Would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Good video. Are you sure this is a 1985? Is the body medal? It looks very much like my 1946 EZ Go, except that mine has only one bar coming off the front of the cart to hold up the awning overhead. If the plate that lists the Model# and Serial# and Mfg.# is inside the battery compartment on the driver's side back fender wall, then your cart is pre-1975. Just curious.

When I've bought parts for it I've bout it for the 1985. The serial number is somewhere on the dash or on the side of the dash. I'll go take a look and get back to you.

@@jaradbrink I misspoke...mine is a 1956, not a 1946. Yeah, you should find your S# and M# inside the passenger side glove box. I also noticed that yours has two back rests while mine has only one. I'd send you a picture of it if I knew how to do that in KZread. Thanks for your reply.

Do you happen to have a wiring diagram from this cart? I purchased a 1988 which seems to be about the same, have a couple questions.

Not sure what your meaning. The terminals are on the battery. If your meaning the wire ends. You should be able to go to your local Napa or autozone. They should have them.
