    I believe CNES is actually a Vietnamese brand and is produced there, it’s just that their international arm operates out of Singapore. Since you’re brunching out to Asian brands, I would love to hear your thoughts on Jalan Sriwajaya shoes, they’re an Indonesian brand with a strong lineup

    This is absolutely correct. I first came across CNES whilst living in Singapore where I purchased two pairs. They shoes were amazing. Then, during a trip to HCMC Vietnam, I sought out the CNES store. I purchased 15 pairs of shoes, from boots, dress shoes and driving shoes, loafers etc... The quality is truly excellent. For some of the dress shoes, I played around by dying them in differing colors (using Preston’s techniques) and have to say that `I am blown away by how they look. I get compliments everywhere I go on my shoes. My only criticism is that the last has little arch support. So if you have high arches, you may want to take this into consideration. Otherwise, CNES is truly awesome!

They're in Portugal, and offer what appears to be a decent shoe for a reasonable price. *However;* rather than Goodyear welt, they use Blake Rapid Construction. It would be interesting to see and hear about the pros and cons of that type of construction! They have a "design your own" option, and I did a dry run. Recently I’ve been looking into women’s Oxford shoes for my mother, so this may help you. The biggest trouble you will find is that men’s shoes are much wider than women’s, and even women with wide feet report that men’s oxfords still look very masculine on them. If you don’t mind that, I think you subtract 1.5 from your women’s shoe size and that will fit, but it will be roomy. Another website said subtract 2, so you may need to look into it.

    To me reviews don't hold a lot of value if you're going to be optimistic and enthusiastic about every single shoe. I don't think you've ever reviewed shoes with dodgy constructions or where they clearly cheaped out on a few parts.

  • @TheElegantOxford

    @TheElegantOxford

    Hey, Tom. I don’t think I would ever review a pair of shoes I don’t recommend. I wouldn’t waste money/ time either buying or asking to receive a pair I think isn’t up to par. That doesn’t mean all shoes I’ve featured are made at the same quality and I’ve clearly elaborated on the different levels of quality you are getting from different brands. Remember, it’s up to YOU to conduct the proper research before you buy any pair. Watch more reviews than mine on companies you are interested in. My videos are simply my honest thoughts, you may have a different experience or different preferences. Why would I purposefully review a pair I know had bad construction? I’ve clearly mentioned issues I have with brands in my reviews, multiple times in fact. Pay closer attention. Have you watched them completely because I even mentioned a complaint I had with CNES in this very video.

    @@TheElegantOxford You could conciously review subpar shoes to educate your audience on what to look out for. I enjoy your videos and I like that you review different brands. It just seems like you are excited about every pair of shoes and it starts to look more like an advertisement compared to an actual review with pros, cons and comparisons.

  • @TheElegantOxford

    @TheElegantOxford

    3 жыл бұрын

    Tom, I have pointed out negatives for pairs various times across my reviews and videos, it seems you just haven’t seen them or haven’t watched the whole video. I am not going to go buy a pair of Cole Haans just to purposely trash them. That’s not the purpose of my review series. My audience already knows the parameters I’ve set for these types of videos. I am introducing you to brands I think are worth it. I have already returned pairs sent to me by companies because I felt I couldn’t honestly recommend them. I’m not here to trash brands, I’m here to educate my audience on what to look for. I receive absolutely no money for my reviews. Of course I’m enthusiastic. That’s what people watch my channel. I’m simply not the type to view every pair skeptically. I give brands the benefit of the doubt, always highlight positives but absolutely have and do point out areas that need improvement. Again, watch the videos in their entirety.

    FYI here are the issues I mentioned with CNES: 1. Shoes only come with one shoe bag instead of two. I have mentioned in almost every video that I don’t prefer that. 2. Welt Fudging is not stark or pronounced as I like but it’s passable. 3. Finish issues and discoloration with the Winstons. 4. The shoes lasts are not as dynamic as what you’d see on other brands. What more do you want? What issues did you see that I didn’t mention? Now the positives are great. For $260 you get a very beveled waist, a beautiful balmoral design, and quality details. It would be wrong to make up negatives to appear “neutral” or honest. The shoes are absolutely worth the money. I wouldn’t have even made a video otherwise.

    I didn't like the last at all ...it looks like the shoe is disabled 🤪

    CNES? Could they come up with a less sexy name? Would have to see the leather. Sure they are ok for $ but assume they have that plastic look and feel up close. Sure it polished over by this master polisher. Good video. Stomach bugs suck@
