hello, Have been looking at the GS3 MP but really want to save profiles. My biggest concerns are how small the Brew and steam boilers are. Does this concern you esp since you did call it a small commercial machine. Every review talks about the screen b ut no one opens up the machine and talks about the internals. How does it look inside.

Hi Timothy. In general, there are many arguments in regards to a "smaller" boiler being more efficient, as less water needs to be heated... for a typical espresso & steam cycle, you aren't going to use enough water to empty either boiler... therefore, the water you are using is more likely to be at a closer temperature to your goal temp & fresher, as it hasn't been sitting in the boiler for as long. So no... small boilers definitely do not concern me... I would ALWAYS choose Sanremo over a LM if I want a machine that produces the best possible espresso 😎

Fantastic work! Thank you. Could you show real quick the tray and if it fills up fast. Some of these seem quite fiddly in all the newer fancy machines!

Hi Carlo, like alot of these machines, SanRemo have been smart about the drip tray size & kept it fairly small. Dirty water sitting in a drip tray for days at a time will produce a horrible smell. I found that this drip tray is more than enough to make lost of coffee's and flush between shots without having to run to the sink too often at all. The best alternative is to plumb the drain fitting into the tray & never have to worry about it again.

Great video. Im in the UK and was looking at a slayer. I was shocked to learn the slayer does not have any volumetric ability. So it’s off the list. The YOU looks like a great machine.

Thanks for your reply. Do you have experience of the LM Strada? I appreciate it a fully blown commercial machine but I love it. I’ve had both MP and AV GS3 ‘s. Built like tanks but just look so outdated compared to the modern stuff coming through.

I haven't played with many LM's. They have never really appealed to my taste preferences.

@@mitchdoescoffee I don’t understand how particular machines have different taste profiles. Surly that’s how the shot is ground, prepared and extracted. That’s how a taste is resulted. Not the machine. I’ve never heard anyone say a machine has different tastes lol.

LM's have always left a particular taste in my espresso. Aluminium, Copper, Stainless, Brass boilers etc... all leave a VERY different taste. Lol

Hello. Great video! :) My question is the following: How well do the presets work from time to time? Cuz my experience with my current espresso machine was that every shot is a bit different (cuz of grinder settings, size of beans ect.). So I always need to adjust my grinder a bit over time and the flowrate is almost everytime longer or shorter. Thank you. Michael

Hi Michael, thanks for your great question. As for the repeatability of espresso, this machine will do EXACTLY the same thing every time. No matter what the machine is, you will always need to adjust your grind setting depending on room temperature, humidity, age of beans & many other variables... having a machine like this will make those variables less, but will never overcome the constant grinder adjustments. What grinder & machine are you using?

Hi Mitch. Thank you for your quick reply. I understand.. so I guess these presets need to be updated after a while, don‘t they? Do you still recommend it? How about only uning the manual lever for every shot (without saving them)? … Is that convenient? At the moment I’m using the Lelit Anita (grinder is integrated in the espresso machine). In the next weeks I will be receiving my P100 grinder :) So I need a new espresso machine as well… Sanremo You is actually a great option.. Thanks. Michael

The presets are something you could set & forget... or slowly adjust to suit your preference. The manual paddle is a great option, however it would be almost impossible to manually recreat the same extraction every time. With more practice I could get better at it, but was a really funky way to extract all types of beans and using scales, timer & a visual inspection to adjust throughout the extraction I could get ANY kind of bean to taste the way I wanted. A flat burr grinder will definitely assist with better quality espresso & ultimately the YOU is by far the best machine available in my opinion.

Looks very much like a Rocket R Nine One. I had horrendous reliability with mine; so much so a sent it back after 2 months. Any idea on the build/intervals of the You? I presume it’s a gear pump also? Thanks for the content.

Hi Eli, From my experience with This machine & my personal sanremo cube, I have found these machines to be incredibly reliable... The only issue I have come across with the YOU is the internal fan is quite loud... But other than that, I truly believe this is the best prosumer machine in the market. Yes it is a variable speed rotary pump. 👍

Why are so many yt reviewers just lying? I have tested this machine to it’s limits.,,,, and then we watch a review where no coffee is made at all. Because they’ve got sell it as a new machine. In pristine condition. In other words they’ve played with the menus and hot water. So much performance for so much deception.

Hi John, we have done some research... using a Samsung stylus, the touch screen does not work... there might be something that does work, but unfortunately for now it looks like a no.

Is there any flow control? I think you may have said pressure instead of flow at a couple of points that's confused me. Assuming the paddle is flow not pressure?

@@mitchdoescoffee Will look forward to it. Saw another video at the factory where they say the paddle essentially varies the water pump, I assume to change flow which then impacts pressure. If I'm interpreting it correctly I'm very interested in this machine!

That is also my interpretation of it currently... I plan on diving quite a bit deeper than I did last time. Definitely keep an eye out 😉
