Rapala 50lb. Mechanical Scale/Fish Gripper Video Review
This is a nice cheap alternative to a Boga grip. You can't get it IGFA certified like the Boga but for $28 it's a great deal.
I've been using it in the Salt for Surf and Kayak fishing and it has held up well over the past 3 years and I think it will continue to hold up for a while since it is made of aluminum.

I was wondering if the jaws would open up if you were weighing something over 50#, I want to also use it to weigh my luggage for plane travel

The rapala goes up to 50# so anything over it won’t read. I don’t think the jaws would open up on you but the foam grip on this model got loose eventually. I use a official 60# Boga now but it costs a lot more.

+Cooking and Fishing It's made of aluminum so it's holding up great. I rinse it and let it dry once a while. I let one of my careless friends use it and they threw it in the sand two seasons back after gripping a 17lb bluefish and I washed the sand out of it.

excellent, this is the only knockoff boga I can find that swivels, glad to hear it holds up in the salt. I need a better bluefish landing method on my inflatable kayak lol...thanks!

+Cooking and Fishing Yea this will work great and has survived many thrashing crazy heavy blues. I have broken the older cheaper rapalas but this one has held up real well.

2019 how is it holding up does it still weight pretty accurate?
