I got one of these way back when they were $137 back then nobody wanted a green Les Paul, I believe this guitar made the color popular again, I was able to get the ocean blue model when they discontinued this model, the green one is like a 60s LP with a slim tapered C shaped neck and a 3 piece body, the blue LP is modeled on a 50s LP with a fatter D shaped neck, a one piece back, really just a thin cap on the back, to make it look like a one piece back,has the flame maple veneer like the green one,the fatter neck is just as comfortable to play as the slim tapered neck, I don't have a favorite I like both of them, awesome guitars.

I bought one through an auction for 85.00 and I am in love with it. It's beautiful and plays great.

Mine too! I just bought another budget guitar (Grote) and it’s just as good.

I have an IYV spalted maple Thinline tele. Looks gorgeous, plays well and is very well built for its price. Can definitely recommend IYV.

The company IYV is Inyen Vina. There are guitars you can still find with this or "Inyen" on the headstock. From Vietnam i highly reccomend this companys products. This is a scanned and precision machine cut body and neck of a 59 les paul standard. I love mine. Tho these are machine cut, Vietnam has some of the most amazing instrumental craftsmen i have seen. There are many handmade (no power tools) guitars from vietnamese craftsmen that are one of a kind beautiful and perfectly melodic guitars that sell for extremely cheap in the US. Google some

My IYV SG have Inyen Vina in script on the headstock and I like it better than the block IYV. I have 6 others and dig them all.

I just bought the IP 350 in trans black. A couple of flaws in the finish and the fret board was dry as southern Baptist town on Sunday but everything else was as near perfect as you can get.

I was looking for a good first guitar and just got the IP-350 TBK PRS guitar. It is beautifully made and sounds great. A friend, that plays, came over and installed new strings, polished the frets some and then adjusted intonation as needed. It's an awesome guitar and now he's thing of getting one, as well.

I have one of the ISMF 200 mustang hybrid. Mine had the pickups changed to greybottoms and it sounds absolutely awesome! ( original pickups came with it). The tuners were changed as well. It gets some serious wicked sounds thru my tube amps. Next one I want to pick up is the Brian May (the original version).

I have one. First thing, I’m super impressed with the quality of the build. The neck is super easy to play. Action was spot on out of the box. (Which can be off on expensive guitars) actually has a bone nut. Pick ups are decent. If I were to change anything on it. It would be to upgrade the pickups. Other than that it’s a lot of bang for the price.

I got the GREEN one, the abalone inlay is shockingly good as is the sound and plays excellent. I don’t think this one required any additional setup.

I agree. Mine doesn't really need any work.

Quality and setup are apples and oranges and are mutually exclusive. You can have a custom $5K guitar that has a horrible setup doesn’t mean it’s bad and you can have a crappy guitar that is setup well doesn’t mean it’s a good guitar. I used extreme examples but you get my point.

100% spot on. It's all about the setup and the player. Good is good great is better but the diminishing returns concept seems to really kick in around 300 to 500 these days imho at least.

there are things that are super easily fixable and then there’s things that are actually super serious and a big deal. intonation and action can usually be fixed pretty darn easily. Same with the truss rod(implying it’s not broken). and the pickups too. bad wiring or a poor anchor point for the bridge or a bad nut/neck/frets is definitely much harder to fix and should be sent back if it’s an issue

I played a lespaul but i recently moved country and didn't bring my guitar so im looking for a new cheap guitar that will sound good and play well. The cheap ones ive been renting is horrible, intonation sucks and the action is extremely high but i had to make do. Do you think this purchase would be worth it?

Great video, only thing is when you were demoing the sound of the guitar, the natural sound of the pick on the strings was at least as loud as the amp, making it difficult to hear the real tone.

I got one of these on eBay for $130. I got it ONLY because of the color and wasn't really expecting much more seeing as I also have an actual Gibson LP. Turns out that it's awesome. Plugged in and played straight out of the box, didn't even have to tune it. I can't tell very much of a difference between it and my Gibson. I did eventually swap out the pick ups for P-90s but that's just a personal preference. The factory pick ups play just as good as most high end brands. I'd LOVE to get one of these in gold top but I don't believe they make those.

I have. Gibson les paul studio. Epiphone les paul standard. Epiphone jr and special 2 les paul. I just picked up that same green ivy les paul. It holds its own. Plays very good. To be honest i cant tell the difference from epiphone standard and the ivy except the cost. But im going to upgrade the pickups in the ivy. This reminds of the Ibanez les pauls i was buying in the 70s. A couple upgrades and wella. You basically had a gibson without emptying you wallet. Guitar technology has come a long way. There are many companies producing good guitars at affordable prices for beginners. Ivy is a good example.

Good idea about upgrading the pickups. I honestly like playing this one as much as my actual Les Paul.

I got one second hand and I cant find any reason someone would have sent this back .There is not one issue that would prevent anyone form playing it. Low action perfect intonation one piece body no buzzing fair pickups beautiful flame maple top.Only needed fret oil and will replace strings soon.

The neck is not chunky at all. Very easy to grip and play. I'm honestly not sure what kind of fret board it is.

@@Everything-hw4jbJust finished professionally setting up this guitar and honestly was far off the neck was so straight was almost back bowing so I gave it a hair relief then I intonated it and it wasn't to far off , then I raise pickups and the front pickup straightend out when I rose it a hair , This thing plays better than any les Paul and is light usually Les Paul's weigh a ton

What the hell is happening i missed something. A guy about 3 weeks ago got a brand new one for 40 U.S. dollars. I couldn't believe it. But it happened. Someone bought a pallet of them that lost at the airport he made a bid and bought a pallet stacked with new iyv electric guitars. Im not that lucky.

The pickups sound very muddy and thin to me. I found the same problem with my firefly. After a pick up change the guitar is incredible. I'm in my sixties and i've been a Gibson player for many years. Trust me those days are over. I've come to realize most of these very inexpensive imports perform exceptional with a pick up change. Materials, fit and finish, playability , are identical. Save your money and steer away from Gibson guitars.
