The arms of the "Stargazer Chair" appear to be designed to support your arms & elbows at the right height for holding binoculars while stargazing! Fun fact: every astronomer that I've listened to recommends to get a pair of binoculars first to enjoy stargazing before ever spending money on a telescope! Get at least a 50mm front lens (to gather the most light) and no more than 8x to 10x power (to minimize image wobble from hand shake).

Well, we just picked up one to try. Had three people in the house try it. Me 6’4”, my wife 5’0” and my adult daughter 5’8”. All of us found it extremely uncomfortable. Defiantly gives you a sense of being squished and no comfortable place to put your arms. Sending it back. The search continues.

I just got one of these. My findings so far are pretty much the same. However, using the bars to get in and out is not easy either. You can and will crush your finger on the vertical/uprights of the chair as you sit or stand. The upright bars are far too close to the chair and I would think a super simple fix. stretching the horizontal curved bottom frame bar and viola. To be honest breaking this thing down and packing it in the bag takes longer than a small tent. Again a super simple fix with a larger bag. I have read the same reviews (I think) as you and while some seems a little petty, you have to keep in mind that at $220 for an item that would traditionally be considered expensive at $100, no complaint is petty. These things should be perfect and we shouldn't need to get USED to it.

I could never justify the price either, but finally caved when REI ran a 25% off sale. I have to say the more I use it outdoors the less I begrudge the price. What finally sold me to keep it was taking it to a neighborhood park with a small lake and just staring at the stars and watching the clouds float by. I will say for maximum comfort when reclining, you need a footrest of some kind. Glad I bought it.

Easier to buy a lightweight sitting and mainly eating chair, and a tripod like chair with a legholder attached. In my country all together is 45-75 dollars converted. For eating it is too low, you definitely nedd 2 chairs. And you can buy an outside fishing bed with sleeping bag attached to it and you have a whole setip. There are tables that fold half and have 4 eating chairs stored in them. Great setup too. Cheers :D

FYI- the stitching at the pockets where the “tent poles” go came undone while trying to insert the poles. We emailed NEMO and they did not cover it under warranty and charges a repair fee. Which is disappointing because it failed before we could even use it. We expected more quality and service for a chair we paid $200 for. “Lifetime warranty” is inaccurate.

It looks so awesome. But I actually would have probs w/ the bars. I have a lot of pain in my forearms and elbows, and even touching something hard with them for any length of time (10 mins +) becomes really painful. Still looking, but thanks for the review. I still may try it if I can find one locally. (p. s. as someone w/ a lot of pain, don't keep crossing your legs. it wears on your body over time. source: my physical therapist lol) awwwwwwwwwww the faun! That's so so sweet and good of you to leave it be.

Great review, but, sorry, the price is ridiculous. This is a camping chair for god sake, no way in hell you can justify the cost of this. If you can't find a chair that is a quarter to a third of this chair, then I think maybe you should not be camping & should be at a resort. Sorry, my 2 cents worth, but some people just go over the top.
