Hi Andy, it really was great to meet you in person a few weeks back, we all learnt a great deal and even though the weather was awful, had a great day. A great review of what looks like a nice rod, nearly bought the 9.8/10.8 extendable Streamflex but just holding back, so asking if.... Any chance you could take a look at a couple of other rods? - 10ft Wynchwood Drift 3wt - 10ft 2" Guideline LPX Nymph?

I agree the graphics are a bit garish, I must be getting old too Andy I prefer a more subtle muted graphic, the garish rods of old tended to be the cheaper rods and that still sticks with me, a nice blank ,blank says quality nothing to flash and scare fish,

I've recently acquired a Fin outfit and the cork on that looks about the same as the cork on that Wing. On a cheap outfit it's to be expected but at near £400 it should be a lot better.

Call me old school but I am not a fan of the new greys colour scheme and glad that I bought the Vision Hero nymph rod which although gold-ish in colour blends in on the river bank, is a great rod and terrific value

How does this compare to vision hero rods with which your known for using?.

I haven't fished this rod but I have handled it at Sportfish HQ in Reading. I was underwhelmed. The previous Steamflex was, in my opinion, somewhat soft in action, but that is subjective. The new version is stiffer, as you say. However, I felt the finish was not up to scratch for a rod of this price, especially the cork which you mention. For £100 less, I feel rods such as the Orvis Clearwater and Guideline Elevation offer better value. Just a view.

The rod looks much nicer on your video than it does in the catalogue. Think it looks a really nice rod. I'd probably steer away from greys, pure fishing are a big company more interested in profits rather than product quality in my experience.

Was powerfux not the material used on the stream flex and the GR rods. I own a couple of the old streamflex rods and the build quality and presentation seem far better than this wing rods. Given the discounts available from other manufacturers it would seem unlikely that you would spend £359 on this range given the issues you pointed out especially the handle and the graphics🤮
