Matt, I'm sorry I forgot to mention i have some of the instrument display options disabled, including the boost gauge, because I have that set up for the center screen. Wanted to minimize scrolling in instrument cluster. Point is you can put up a boost gauge and other things if you want.

Saw one of these one the road the other day and I must say the rear end looks super aggressive in person, the camera doesn’t do justice as to just how wide and staunch it really is👌

The blue looks good with tan interior

The styling on video looks awkward but I saw one in person last week and it looked awesome and very dramatic

Great review. I feel one of the better reviews for a DD. Also like how you even mentioned you're not going to spend too much time on the looks because they are subjective. I've watched a lot of videos where they spend 5 minutes talking about how much they hate it and why you should hate it too. Well done!

Glad someone isn't just showering it with hate on the looks, it's clearly one of the better attempts by bmw in the last 5 years. The engine noise sounds a lot less fake than older models too.

That motor in a Supra would be hilarious fun

I like the car, the interior has grown on me via video lol, I haven’t seen one in person and I like the interior. I love bmw’s seats and interiors. I’d get one if I was in the market for a fun car.

Nice review. While I was watching Buick Roadmaster called. They want they pinstripes back.

At first I was meh about it. But I actually like it and how it reminds me of the E30 3 series. The right angles in the bumper could be slightly adjusted to be a little more interesting. But overall it’s awesome

There is a boost gauge available in the options.

I love the Zandvoort Blue, but even the graphics package works. The end of a Golden Era of driving. If you have the means, consider getting both the Supra manual and the M2 manual The last manual BMW ever, and the last manual Supra ever.

I love the new display and customization. People will complain about everything.

I don't mind the styling of the big screen, but the glare seems a bit intense. I'm used to a shroud over my cluster. This car looks so good in person, that i don't mind the squares. I think it helps the car really stand out from other BMWs. It's instantly recognizable.

The styling is a bit polarizing, but it has kind of a unique look that sets itself apart from a lot of the copy and paste designs out there. I think it will age well and people will come to like it. I'm not quite there yet though 🙂

Nice to see Matt finally review a new BMW model. I can't believe you didn't mention the Audi RS3 as one of its main competitors. Throttle House did a great comparison review and I have to agree with them that this time the new RS3 has surpassed the M2 in styling and performance.

I try to only compare cars of a similar type. Comparing an AWD, auto 4 door to a RWD, manual 2 door is an apples to oranges comparison to me. Totally different driving experiences. Both fun in their own ways.

What RIMs are those? Do they offer them in gold similar to the BMW M2 CS RIMs?

Really like the blue and glad to see it doesn’t have the giant grille of the other BMWs…..

This is a major improvement in cosmetic styling compared to the rest of the BMW line-up nowadays, especially the front. But the back looks so weird still, its like 2 different people designed the sides and the rear and they couldnt come to an agreement so they just decided to stop one idea and start the next haha.

I have to say I like the styling. The previous M2 looks a bit better for different reasons, but this still looks great.

I bought this as my first BMW to replace my 2019 RS3. The RS3 is no longer available here in Canada.

Why did the owner opt for after-market wheels? I hope he kept the correct originals. In a decades time this is going to be a highly prized and collectible vehicle. I find that most of the naysayers who deride the looks of this car are nothing more than keyboard warriors with big opinions and tiny bank accounts. Most can’t afford to actually buy one and still live with their parents.

@@JustinHEMI05 Yep, people acting like OEM is great..its not. Especially when they are cast wheels. Even OEM Forged isn't "great" forged either still heavy.

I like the last generation M2, but my favorite is the Coupe 1M

This car will age really well.

I'll take a CT4 Blackwing over this any day

Yeah, they weigh about the same now too…

The basic 230i coupe looks better in some respects. Especially in the front and back ends. Beautiful in Alpine White.

So far my best mpg is 23.5 on my m3 X-Drive.

After dealer markups it came to over 80k in my hometown. That involved a $10k markup!

Damn that sucks. My dealer didn't play games like that. As an owner, now with over 4K miles, I can definitively say that it isn't worth more than MSRP. That's not a knock, just the truth. People should wait out dealers and the market. Don't pay over MSRP.

⁠@@JustinHEMI05- Yep! I was ready to buy one but only at MSRP of $65. Than dealer jacked it up to $80k after taxes and fees. I settled on the. 230i coupe instead. I’m very happy with the 230i great daily driver.

Coming from a legacy gt I'm going to a m240i

They’re selling now at MSRP! So good bargain in my opinion. About $65-$70k

This car is badass and looks awesome. I think it would look even better if the wheels were gunmetal/gray.

I tend to agree with you. I went with glossy black to go with the carbon and other glossy black parts, but I think I'm going to eventually move to a gunmetal set.

Have you seen and driven the 2022/23 230i coupe? I have one in the base trim, without added MSport options. Great looking and thrilling to drive, even without the additional power and handling of the M2. Check it out and see. Most nimble BMW. Most affordable. Starts at $37k. It’s a true bargain from BMW. YOU NEED TO,DRIVE IT.

This was filmed in Pittsburgh but the owner doesn't live in the area anymore, he was just visiting.

I think the F22 2-series was way better-looking. They really and fuglied it up. The lack of physical HVAC controls is a big non-starter for me.

"I'm not going to talk too much about the styling"...then several comments about not getting into too much, LOL! It's ok to not like something without bashing it, we've got Savagegeese for that😇 Ok one more thing, having this M2 and a C8 in the same video should come with a warning about offensive images🤮

Canceled my allocation for this car earlier this year, same color too. I’ll reconsider with the Comp/CS model.

The gear knob looks like it came from a 1980’s Ford Escort 😂

"assuming you can get this at MSRP" lol gtfo. Despite used similar class used cars dropping in value like a rock over the past two months I just went into a BMW dealer and they want $5k deposit for a March '24 delivery and $10k dealer mark-up with $2k BS add-ons. Who are these jokers paying this? its not a GT4 lol. It's just a mass-produced sporty 2 door coupe at "a great value" for the performance. But it seems value doesn't matter if your out the door price is $90k for his car - at least in So California.

To me it’s just the weight and the design that are clear negatives. Other than that, it sounds like it’s kick ass to drive and is like a better sized M4 without the beaver teeth.

RW Carbon. Do not recommend because they're just a Chinese drop shipper with terrible CS. That said, the lip has been fine. My problem was with the mirror caps. Lesson learned, OEM only from now on even if they cost a lot more.

I like them, but yeah, the previous M2 looks a lot better.

Love the classic Bimmer concept of the small proportions and RWD. Some more development in limiting the curb weight would have made this even better. It’s just too bad the stying isn’t the best and that awful black racing stripe isn’t helping.

Are you stupid? The new M2 looks like something a kid that plays Roblox would of thought of. The old M2 had a timeless look to it. Also M2s are small, they’re all going to look “girly”.

I don’t get these 'Baby Blue' cars…(BMW, Hyundai N). The color doesn’t compliment the car and always reminds me of a baby's nursery. UGH!

Automatic is the way to go. Faster. This is coming from a manual driver and I would never get the manual in this Bimmer. Better question. F87 Competition or this G87?

This car is atrocious. At first I gave it a chance (like everything) then as time went on, it just became hard to look at. I drive past one everyday that’s sitting outside of a dealership and it looks blocky and bloated.

It's a Lego car.

It is by far the worst looking car in the BMW lineup. None of the prominent styling cues from the sketches made it into the car. The sketches look sporty and aggressive, what came out looks dull and unfinished. I am so sad ...

I like the look of the new M2, everything about it. This is a "man's car"! I would take an M2 over a new Corvette or Camaro SS or Mustang Dark Horse. I love them. So bad ass!

Love the car…except those stripes are awful. They need to go ASAP.
