REVERSE BALAYAGE - HOW TO CONVERT ALL OVER BLONDE TO DIMENSIONAL BALAYAGE

hairbyfridamaczka

Hi everyone!! I'm back with another hair tutorial. Todays video i'm doing one of my best friends hair. Someone else did her color and she had all over platinum with grown out bands of roots and previous shadow root. I'm showing you how I blended out her natural color to give her more dimension for an easier grow out. I hope this helps you and thank you so much for watching.

    Is so stunning very very few can approach this technique to perfection!! I can find someone to ever understand me when I asked them to work a flawless dimension on the front of my hair so when I parted or pulled back can have a smooth organic natural transition. I guess I'll show them your video. Thanks so much

    I'm in the same boat as was your friend was and am looking to do this too, but I'm wondering what the next appointment would look like. Will the permanent color make refreshing a blonde balayage, or just babylights around the face, more difficult? Will the permanent-color-over-bleached-hair lift differently than would her natural hair? How would you address this in her next appointment?

    bekah williams I would go around and do a full foil of lowlights maybe something a little warmer instead of 6NA maybe try 7NB, 6NB mixture and do a full of that and drag some of them down half way and some all the way like I did and then you could smudge the lowlight color inbetween all the lowlights to also help blend :)

    sharon mccully It did slightly but not enough for a normal person to notice, because It matched with her natural really well. If I had used 7 it would’ve lifted her natural to an orange color or if I used 5 it would’ve been a lot darker

    Balayage is simply a technique... this is not that. This is simply baby highlights done w/ foils... not 100% sure why you alternated like that I guess to give it an all over lighter look all together? & then what you put on her in the sink is a color melt. I am sure you already know all this, so giving people misinformation is not cool. Probably caused a lot of ppl confusion. hopefully this might help?

  • @FridaMaczkabeauty

    It’s a reverse balayage. Meaning instead of being all over blonde I am now giving her a lived in, more natural look with depth in between her blonde to blend her natural root and her bright blonde. There are MANY techniques out there on how to achieve different looks so I’m sure you’re the only one thats confused. Hopefully this helps you as a lot of other stylist in the comments have let me know that they tried it and it helped them 😊

    that is permanent color inside the foils, not bleach. She is adding LOWLIGHTS to make her hair more dimensional,, and lived in. In the end she's not doing a "color melt" she is toning her hair (the blonde). Hope that helps

  • @signsoflove6605
    @signsoflove66052 жыл бұрын

    But she’s not all over blonde. The way her growth looks, it appears she had highlights or balayage to begin with. What about people who literally were all over blonde and have like an inch to a half inch of growth but want to transition into a balayage look to keep the growth from looking so obvious with harsh lines. I don’t like the blonde all the way to my root, and I hate that transition period between coloring. I’d love to see a video with a true all over blonde client.

    Do exactly what she did plus a shadow root smudge which will put the same lowlight color on all over the roots and pull it down by combing it down into the lowlights :-) in a licensed hairstylist so I hope that helped a little if you were still curious! I’ve been the all bleach blonde and that’s what you do mixed with this :)

  • @signsoflove6605

    @signsoflove6605

    @@Savannahwellman I don’t want to grow all the blond out, so if I get this smudge root, how hard with it be in the future to bust through that color from the smudge root in order bring the blonde up? I ended up going and getting highlights done about 2 months ago and it’s helped to hide that harsh line, but it’s not exactly where I want it quite yet.

  • @kateypotter9639

    @@Savannahwellman so use the same lowlight color as smudge? In between the lowlight foils on the hair left out? Correct? Or do you recommend smudging with a darker root? Comb it through the hair left out of foil correct? All this before toning. Did I understand? I have a very platinum new client and am at a loss. Even all these 24 years I’m overwhelmed. Would you recommend a warmer lowlight? I think so since this client is white. Thanks for helping fellow hairdresser who’s brain is probably overthinking
