A couple things here, from a non-American's perspective: 1. America asked for this when it allowed corporations to own literally everything, including the media. American media is polarized in a way not seen in any other first world nation- and this isn't a recent thing either. 2. "Scientific evidence" has come to mean "things I can figure out with zero training"- the result of decades of blind "patriotism" and a society taking collective credit for things they had nothing to do with. America has the best R&D- it also has the least educated population of any first world nation. A country like this will constantly use that prowess in research as a point to be nationalistic on, but because they can't actually understand any of it, will end up rejecting it the minute it intrudes on their lives- as has happened during the pandemic. 3. The near cult-like obsession and worship of the constitution- again, not only is this not seen in any other developed country, it's something so totally alien to any country on earth other than the US. Blind patriotism was used as a glue to hold American society through the cold war, keeping internal dissent tamped down while the CIA and Washington wreaked havoc outside the US's borders. And now it's come home to roost- look at that one dude ranting about Communism. Most Americans can't even define what communism or socialism is. In short, America has no one to blame but themselves for this mess. Q isn't a prophet, it's a symptom. This is what happens when you raise a society with the belief that anarchic freedom is something to aspire to.

Agreed. It has my aunt and I’ve watched her beliefs get more and more disconnected from reality every time we speak. She is distressed, anxious, and paranoid over things whose only evidence she can show me is sketchy sources online and bizarre assertions. Even her husband is worried but can’t get through to her right now. We can only hope that eventually, she will come out on her own without too much serious harm.

Never has a conspiracy theory ever become this mainstream. I remember the days of when it was nerdy to believe in them, and you had to find groups who talked about them. People actually did research about the topics they were discussing about, and sometimes it was just jokes. Times have changed, that’s for sure.

When I first heard of this, I rolled my eyes and chuckled. Now, I'm angry because they've caused so much harm.

When I was younger I worried about the one world order, the end times, anti-government and so many things. Many beliefs came from my church. There is a feeling of righteousness and excitement you know something others do not. You want for more and validation from others. Then the church got political. There was no internet then. I got away from it because I became paranoid. I'm 72 and I know these people want to do good but the information is so wrong. I can understand how they feel but I really think it is harder to get away from it with the internet. You can not talk to them or change their minds. They will separate from you.

Please be specific as i have spent 3 years looking into this and have spent many thousands of hours and dollars, i have met a lot of easily identifiable dead ends but followed many leads to some of the sickest most nauseating things humanity can be capable of. I keep hearing words thrown around like foolish, crazy, cultish, uneducated.... But no real instances of heres why this is false or that. I dont consider myself Republican, not a Q follower, wasnt a Trump supporter nor do I consider myself foolish or uneducated - I have a college education and an IQ of 150 with an almost photographic memory. I dont support our govt bc of shady things ive learned in past few years but i dont consider myself anti-American, im a Navy veteran. I have tried to have a civil conversation with many on this subject but can find no one with real research just cries of craziness and uneducated and cultish. Seems the deniers are as vehement and as uneducated as the people they are descrying honestly.

I don’t know whether to laugh or to cry for these sad, confused people. They have so little self-awareness as to how they are perceived by society. And yet they continue to debase themselves all over the place. I’m embarrassed for them.

One of the things I don’t see talked about enough is the threat posed by popular Qanon influencers and pushers. Wildly popular among the Q faithful, most are grifters or attention seekers who know they are peddling lies. Others are truly disturbed individuals. We are only a hair’s breadth away from a ‘Jim Jones’ type gaining influence in Qanon and organizing a terrible act of violence or mass suicide.

Well, obviously, 9 months out, it’s clear their adherence to non-violence has been abandoned.

These people need to get jobs and/or hobbies. Plain and simple.

I have no idea if the original tale has such a speech about boys being sold to Pleasure Island or not but the Disney cartoon def does. Thats his point and by no means is it proof of anything but it is little weird for a childrens tale. Couple that with other innuendo as well as actual arrests and a red flag is still a red flag. Many times where theres smoke there is indeed fire.

The problem is an epistemological one. How are we justified in believing something is true. People need some critical thinking to avoid beliefs that cannot be justified by the evidence.

He is now in a closed institution, unable to function, a burden to himself and society and leading - as far as I can tell - a joyless existence. We still understand very little about mental processes and their problems and even less about what to do about them. However, that does not mean we should not try.

We direly need to teach “Critical Thinking & Rational Skepticism”, “Financial Literacy & Wealth Development ”, and “Practical Ethics & Citizenship” as required courses in all high schools.

These people are easily manipulated and are very gullible. It's scary to see that are millions of Americans that believe this insanity. It also very dangerous.

I have seen stories of people who have killed themselves and/or their families because of this. Doesn’t make me feel safe as someone living with one of these people.

Amazing that I share a world with these kind of people. No facts just emotion.

First fallacy: distrust or skepticism of established media and science publishing community outlets automatically means that one is open to these kind of conspiracies. I have family who follow Q. It doesn't make any sense to me. But I do understand asking questions and being skeptical. I just wish so many weren't so taken with such unsupportable assertions.

If they had simply sent the money that they spent on signage to the actual #SaveOurChildren they would actually be helping children.

In this age of internet, the idea that one guy, has access to all this intel, and has never been found by his enemies is a flight of fancy. There are heroes in thi world who chase human trafficers, they are interpol, law enforcement, ect. As far as this staying young by drinking the blood of babies, the people they have cited are aging. They believe on face value a story. There are many evil people in this world who do horrible things. It causes me to lose sleep, but I don't know who they are.

I know from direct personal experience many charities as well as law enforcement as well as pediatricians, counselors, ppl who run youth centers and rec centers are involved so who do you trust to tell? Last year i ran across information thru my former girlfriend who was herself a ritual abuse survivor of where and when a secret child auction was to be held. After much soul searching i contacted a well known rescue group who informed me they dont do conspiracy stuff. So now i feel horrible guilt over not doing enough when im in reality trapped in a system that makes it nearly impossible to help. And for ppl like yourself to belittle it and laugh with cries of unfounded, baseless, foolish, moronic, uneducated enrages me and gives me very little hope for humanity.

Great job! Great story. I am trying to learn what I can about this stuff. Scary. We need a two party system. It's hard to have this happen with all the extremist stuff reaching the main stream, and so much animosity on both sides.

This movement has done far more to HARM to law enforcement trying to tackle the problem of human trafficking than help. Someone needs to expose Jim Watkins once and for all.
