This gentleman is arguably the best photographer of all things volcanic and this is some of his most impressive work. Holy shite, that amazing second eruption where you can actually SEE THE CONCUSSION move through the air?!? Gorgeous and terrifying simultaneously. Thank you, sir, for your seemingly endless patience and your artist’s eye.

@@snuugumz You don't think volcanic activity and the amount of crap they constantly pump out has anything to do with any of it?? What warmed things up for dinosaur's then? Are you American? You are responsible for about 40% of all man made emissions, I went to New York last week and while looking at all the lights burning I thought to myself, "I'll be sure to keep using my energy efficient bulbs back here in the UK" to get rid of our 1% contribution and offset everything America, China and India is doing to us all. My outlook for the world is so much better for doing that.

This footage is so gorgeously terrifying it's surreal. It's hard to comprehend that something as truly awesome as this actually exists on our planet. The sound alone triggers some sort of primal terror and excitement inside of me I can't even describe it.

The time to run has expired once the mountain erupts. Survival is purely up to fate after that.

when it first started I was like "gee, you would think there would be a loud noise" and before i even finished the word "noise" did that beautiful explosion reach my ears. I loved watching this thus why I watch the live Volcano cam here on KZread. Etna is always exploding and recently so have others been really active

Seriously though, Martin Rietze - what a terrifyingly beautiful piece of collected footage. The moonlight shining softly on the ash cloud is an amazing contrast to the violence of what's happening below. Big thumbs up 👍🤩

Incredible. The 2nd explosion IMO is the best, with the whole mountain covered in lava, plus there's a lightning strike in the plume. Thumbs up !

Poor Martin--he has to video spectacular volcanoes by moonlight while hanging out by rushing streams in tropical paradises. It's too bad he's so bad at it. 😉

What a nice catch of happenings but at the same time it is so devastating and frightening. The camera man/photographer behind is so brave to stay and capture that moment.
